It is a nice property with easy access to Luhao border crossing. The area is a bit old for Shenzhen standards but the property was kept nicely

This Shangari la hotel is by far the worst I have stayed. The carpets are dirty and the ceilings are low. There are hundreds of taxis blocking the entrance of the hotel.

Most Shangri-La hotels are very nice. This particilar hotel is ancient. It is old, loud and the staff are not very competent.

Disappointing staff, facilities and breakfast buff
It is not a Shangrila quality hotel in terms of facilities or staff skills, not even international level quality. It wasn’t just the lack of English - it was the lack of problem solving abilities, so simple requests/issue had to go up to management level. The buffet was also more of a 3 star tourist hotel than I have experienced at Shangrila in Wuhan and Xiamen (also abroad - but I don’t expect Western or UAE quality here.) I will not return and I will tell everyone I know to steer clear.

The property itself is fine, but I am disappointed with the service provided by the Expedia agent, the agent was not helpful, i had to pay 2 extra nights that I didn't need to stay.

The hotel is relatively old therefore if you fancy new hotels please book the ones in Futian or Nanshan districts

Christmas 2020
Great time unable to travel out of Chine this year, we decided to spend Christmas at the Shangri la. Jeanne in check in upgraded our room, got us a discount on the Christmas Buffet, rooms were quite. The breakfast was great. Everyone there treated us well.

This used to be my favourite hotel for the past 15 years - the last 2 trips I have found the staff speak less and less English and the food in the horizon club lounge was not worth the extra dollars. So disappointing

Shangri La is one of my top preference. This hotel is well located, next to Shenzhen Railway Station and subway station. Coming from Guangzhou and going back after my stay, this is indeed the perfect location. The room given is excellent except for two minor issues - the dvd play is not working; and the aircon blows only cold air even though it provides selection of heat and cool... Otherwise the hotel deserve a 5 star rating.

Feedback on my stay
The service is good except for two situations. One is the breakfast for two days was not indicated when I and my wife are having my breakfast even though I have made a payment at the hotel reception on the first day of my check-in. The other is the mistake of payment when I pay for breakfast at the reception on the first day, I have to pay a difference of $6.40 rmb when I checkout.
