"Surprisingly Nice Hotel In Small Town Indiana"
The hotel really blew away my expectations. Out of experience of staying at budget hotels in big cities, I had little hope of this hotel being in a good, new, clean condition. But I was pleasantly surprised.
The hotel has been recently renovated, with everything looking new. The room had nice paint/wallpaper, with no wear or tear to be seen. The hotel did have a brand-new carpet smell, but that's negligible when considering how nice everything looked.
I really appreciated the fact that all the beds have 2 sets of pillows, one firm and one soft. My night's sleep depends on my pillow combination and comfort, and this hotel had the perfect options for a picky sleeper.
The bathroom was spacious and (one of my tell-tale signs of a good hotel) the bathtub drained well.
The continental breakfast was a little above average, with 2 flavors of waffles, prepared cheese omelets, sausage, yogurt, toast, bagels, oatmeal, and cereal. And of course coffee.
The indoor pool looked nice and clean, but I didn't have the chance to take a dip.
It's conveniently located right off the highway, and an easy 25 minute drive from Indianapolis, in a quite and quaint Midwestern town. Feel more than free to explore the downtown area, with noted visits to beautiful Strand Theater and multi-tap craft beer restaurant, Crosstown Bar and Grill.
