Not top notch but pleasant

I stayed 4 nights during early Sep. In general, tourism is quiet as a result of recent incidents. However it feels safe during my stay. Before entering the lobby, your car need to go through security check and luggage has to pass x-ray check. Staffs are friendly and strive to please guests, especially staffs from the Concierge. They have been very helpful to book me meet and assist service at Cairo Airport, snorkeling tour and change air ticket. The resort is over 10 years old but condition is reasonably well maintained. All rooms are in two stories villas. Room is a bit dated but big and has a nice Arabian feel. Top floor room has better sea view. The resort is large. It's better to have a room located close to main building and pool, otherwise it costs time to wait for buggy transfer. Breakfast doesn't have much variety but it has many types of fresh fruits which you can order freshly squeezed juice. Food in general is OK. It mainly offers Arabian cuisine. Italian and Asian cuisine are not up to a five star standard. Beach is small can't swim. But it has extended deck where you can go into the sea to swim and snorkel. The house reef is pretty good with coral and varieties of fish. The resort offers snorkeling trip. However since lacking of guests to go in a yatch, I can only go to the sea by speed boat which has been entirely uncomfortable. It is small, has no shade and is bumpy all the way. Overall though it isn't a top notch resort, it has been a pleasant experience.
