Restaurant are fine, pricy like everything in Switzerland. Stuff was not really nice, kinder neglecting us, probably because we were with small children. "This historic hotel is located in the heart of Appenzell and has a lovely restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. It is a short walk from the train station, is clean and charming and rooms have comfortable beds and bedding. The included breakfast is plentiful and delicious with good coffee :) The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating - when we had to check out very early at the end of our stay, they packed us a delicious lunch to take with us on the train the night before we left since we would miss the morning breakfast. Travellers should note that there is no AC due to preservation rules for all hotels/historic buildings in Appenzell - when we came there was a heat wave so it was unusually hot, but we opened our windows at night and it cooled our room off enough so we could sleep. We highly recommend Gasthaus Hof!"

"A Wonderful Stay, With One Note for Housekeeping Our stay at Walhalla Hotel in St. Gallen was fantastic, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. The service stood out, especially from a lady at reception who had just joined the team. I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name, but she was consistently warm, always smiling, and full of great local recommendations — she made a real difference to our stay. Breakfast offered excellent value for the price. I’m not usually a big breakfast person, but I enjoyed it, and my kids loved it too. Our room was spacious and comfortable, easily fitting the three of us. Small touches like the automatic windows were a nice surprise, and the floors and overall finish were great. The Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom were a lovely detail too. The one area for improvement was housekeeping. While the staff were friendly, they always seemed rushed — the floors were often left dirty, and the bathroom floor wasn’t properly cleaned. They’d make the bed and swap the towels, but the actual floor cleaning was consistently missed. This is meant purely as constructive feedback, as everything else about our stay was excellent."

"Good overall experience. The hotel was renovated, clean, and comfortable. The room did not have air conditioning, but a fan was provided, which helped. The location was excellent and very convenient, and the hotel also had a convenient parking lot, which made the stay easier. I did not have much interaction with the staff, but everything went smoothly. Overall, a good hotel and a pleasant experience."

"Self check-in was easy. Breakfast was included and delicious with pleasant staff. View from the hotel over the valley was beautiful. The location in Triesenberg was a good central location between hiking we did in Malbun and Gaflei, Vaduz castle and Herawingert winery. We liked the quaint church across the street, but did not like that the bells rang twice an hour throughout the night! Tough to sleep!"

"This was more like a bed & breakfast - very charming and quaint. The room was very comfortable. We loved the open windows and the sound of the nearby stream. The breakfast was excellent! Be prepared if you get there early because check in is at 4 and doors are not open until after 3. Overall, a lovely stay. Sundays everything is closed except one or two restaurants. Easily accessible from the bus/train station."
