- location: very convenient in the old city quarter, within walking distance to many attractions. 5 minute walk to airport bus and 10 mins walk to underground station (and i am 60 yrs old!) - staff: extremely polite and helpful, especially the lady at the front desk (sorry i forgot her name) -cleanliness: the rooms are clean and bed are very comfortable (we like firm mattresses). Certain areas in the bathroom would have been much better if the old grout lines were re-grouted instead of white paint. Overall, we were happy to stay here and most likely will stay here again if we have a chance to comeback to visit Seoul.

What a germ! A pleasant stay
The entire stay was very comfortable and convenient. Staffs were professional and kind, and the hot breakfast was a real plus! I will definitely come back to this clean, modern, and cozy hotel.

Very small and simple room and hotel. Concrete floors and walls. Cool AC and very close to palaces and lots to see. Very kind and helpful staff with good english. Nice american type breakfast. Bathroom and shower a bit old and tiles not super clean but just wore shower shoes anyways. Wanted to rent bikes but it rained on and off that day. Across street from airport bus pick up and drop off!

Basic but good
Basic but great value. Tried the breakfast once, it looked nice and was generous but tasted pretty nasty. Still worth it. With the window open the room was noisy. The chairs and table in the room were very uncomfortable, but the bedding and shower were really good.

This hotel has a great, central location, and that alone is worth it. The area just a bit west and south (5 minute walk) in the alleyways of the block is trendy and quite fun, but you're also very close to the wonderful Arario in Space art gallery (awesome coffee shop on ground floor and sweets on 2nd floor, fine dining above that), larger palaces and Gwangjang Market. The breakfast -- a sunny side up egg, a slice of toast, half a hot-dog-size sausage, a small piece of bacon, a small side salad, and either a few french fries or a potato soup -- was a fine start to the day, but nothing compared to the amazing food in the city. There were makeup and waste smudges all over the walls of our room and the design of the room was odd but nothing too inconvenient. Staff was pleasant and common areas are quite nice.

Great location
Core of historic Seoul. Walkable distances to shopping districts and palaces. Modern and cozy. Only thing I am not satisfied with was there's no parking lot. However there several parking lot close by and cost $20usd per night. Definitely recommend this place for those who look for reasonable price but in good location. Breakfast was decent and free bicycle retal available.

Overall good property, excellent location and great price. I'm not in love with the open interior structure architecture which is more suitable for office spaces than living spaces. So doesn't have that cozy feeling you're expecting. Also the shower has broken tiles and some spots that I'm not sure if they are mold or just not clean.

Good location near Palace. Subway station. Lots of restaurants just a short walk away. A basic but clean and comfortable hotel. Breakfast is the same each day and not that exciting.

Good attitude of the staff
We had a nice stay at this hotel. The staff are very nice and friendly. One evening, we asked one of the staff, Ken, to order chicken for us. For some reason the restaurant was having problems & the chicken was 2 hours late. Ken helped us to get a good deal w/ the restaurant as compensation. We would like to thank Eric, Ryan, Ken and the rest of the staff for taking care of our breakfast and the housekeeping for maintaining cleanliness in our room (5.1) during our stay.

Great hotel close to Insa Dong shopping and palace
We had a great stay at Amass Hotel. It is a 5-10 minute walk from two different metro stations, right across the street from Changdeokgung Palace, and 5 minutes from the traditional shopping streets and teahouses of Insa Dong. The hotel was clean and offered great amenities, especially for the price. We had new water bottles in our room daily, slippers, toiletries, and robes. The floor heater works (very well). and there is a fan heater/air temp control in the room as well The staff was very helpful and gave us directions and recommendations to areas of interest and spoke english very well, which was helpful since my Korean is not so great. There was a little bit of dust on the floor that seemed to have just been swept into the corner and they didn't replace a pillow case that we had accidentally spilled some juice on. Other than that, the rooms appeared very clean and we saw the cleaning crew coming through daily. The rooftop bar is not open right now because it is winter and the restaurant appears to be in the middle of renovations, so we had to find breakfast elsewhere. If you are looking for a great price and comfortable stay, AMASS is a great choice.

Very accessible
I had a wonderful experience with AMASS Hotel. The hotel is accessible to everything, just across Chandeokgong Palace, Anguk station is around 5 minutes walk. Insadong, Bokchun Hanok Village etc are not so far from the area as well.

Comfortable Stay
Comfortable stay in a modern medium-sized hotel near local attractions. The staff are friendly and can speak good English. Rooms are on the small side but has enough space for one big suitcase. Beds are just okay. Maybe it's because it's too soft for my taste. Bathroom is practical. Has rain shower that always has hot water. Floors in the room is heated. Fast wifi in room is a major plus for me as I had to work during the trip.

Nice artist shopping area
Balcony needs to be updated, shower hot water pressure is good,but the water always get to the hall way. Not much furniture around even in our room balcony area. Location is excellent -- lots of Cafes and nice art shop.

Great hotel near the Palace.
This hotel was great especially for the price! Close to many tourist attractions and food. The restaurant in the lobby served an amazing pork cutlet. The view from the rooftop was great too. The cleaning staff lady was very accommodating.

Simple, Clean, Convenient Hotel
I loved my stay at A.MASS. It was very quiet, clean and spacious, with a modern design. It is also close to some of my favorite neighborhoods in Seoul. It's near Anguk station and Jongno 3-ga station, about a 5 minute walk to one and a bit longer to the other. The bathroom is typical of every guesthouse or hotel I've stayed at in South Korea - the shower is not enclosed. Westerners may take issue with the fact that the water gets all over the floor after a shower, but sandals are provided so that you don't get your feet wet or slip. An electric teakettle is provided which I found very useful. Also a mini-fridge, hair dryer, and toiletries. I would definitely stay at A.MASS again.

Great location, good value.
The A.Mass hotel is a no-frills hotel in a great location to walk to local sights such as Insadong and the palaces. Decor is intentionally spartan, but is is clean, and the room was a good size.

nice bed, spacious room overall great experience
this hotel is extremely close to changdok palace and insadong which is really convenient location for weekend travellers visiting Seoul. I liked the spaciousness of the suite, but there are few things that needs to be improved. First, the construction of the cloth hanger was quite weak, so one fell apart when I hanged heavy jacket on the hanger( hopefully the staff may have replaced it by now) and bathroom sink faucet was badly constructed and was quite shaky. but than this hotel was newly opened when I stayed there and hopefully all those little problems are solved by now. Despite those few issues, I would stay here again for my next visit as the bed was extremely comfortable and the room was open and spacious which I really liked.The hotel is minimalistic as well as modern and I really loved the overall design of the hotel. I really enjoyed the area around the hotel(many great restaurants and interesting shops) and I would recommend this place for a single traveller or couple visiting seoul for a quick weekend trip.

Room is tiny with no closets
The room is so small. There is no place to put your luggages. There are literally no closets!! They just have a few hangers hung to a pipe above the room. The shower and the toilet is separated by a clear divider that only extend out to the length of the toilet. So, when you finish showering, the entire bathroom is wet. The heater/AC unit is noisy, so if you are a light sleeper, you will notice it all night. Most of the staff is friendly. The hotel is close the one of the palace, Isadong, and Hanok Village.

Easy to get to and great location. Room was clean and adequate. Like MANY other hotels, the bedding was hard, but this is to be expected in Korea. Staff were very polite. I would stay here again.

Convenient and clean hotel, great staff
Very nice and helpful staff,very clean, great neighborhood. Two comments: It would be great if there were chair or shelf to put the luggage on. It is difficult to bend to the floor every time you need something from your suitcase....we have done it for 6 days. The floor in the shower is very slippery and even dangerous when wet, so something should be done about it.

Amazing
It was an amazing experience. Hotel was extremely close to many land marks, everything was within walking distance. The style of the hotel was amazing. There was a rooftop bar with an amazing view.

Great location
Good hotel -- Wonderful location (right across the street from Changdok Palace), and one of the most comfortable beds I slept in during my 3 weeks in Korea. Good variety of pillows! Didn't have time to try out the extra-cost breakfast (western or Korean style). My only complaint was the view: My window looked out on only the walls of the building next door -- but that made for a darker room in the morning. Had I stayed longer than 2 nights, I would have liked a small desk. But overall, a great hotel for a short stay.

Great location and value!
Great deal for the neighborhood. Clean, simple, comfortable and just a block from the airport shuttle. Great location, too.

A hotel near shopping area. The room is not big, but kept clean. Overall, convenient location, good service. Nothing to complain about.
