The Best

Posted 30-Nov-2016
Pros: see above everything
Cons: Pillows could be firmer
Location: convenient for anything in Seattle
From the time I got out of my car, to the time I got back in the next day. Every staff contact I had was superb. Bellman/Doorman - could not do enough to help with assuring our check in and exit went smoothly, which it did. Front desk reception was prompt and accommodating. Restaurant food was delicious and service was excellent. The whole ambiance of the place is warm, inviting and in good taste. Great location in the heart of downtown Seattle. Well kept historical building, warm Christmas decorations Will stay here next time I come to Seattle Alan R

Nice hotel and great location!

Posted 30-Nov-2016
Pros: Clean, nicely decorated, and close proximity to downtown!
Cons: Parking is pretty costly, but not too surprising.
Location: Nice location to downtown shopping and dining!
The hotel was really nice and was decorated beautifully. Really set the tone for the holidays. Great location to shopping and dining.

Nice stay, but were not given the room promised.

Posted 28-Nov-2016
Everyone was great at the Fairmont except I was disappointed at the lack of communication of the front desk manager to confirm a room change, and then to not contact an unhappy guest when a problem was brought up. The staff I dealt with though at the counter were extremely caring & considerate, and should be commended for doing their best to rectify a checking in mistake..! Other than that, the hotel, like any Fairmont I've stayed in was beautiful!

The Olympic is the grande dame of Seattle hotels

Posted 27-Nov-2016
Pros: Three little things stood out for me this visit: the new thermostats, the prompt hot water, and the plethora of power outlets.
Cons: I did miss the clock radio into which I could plug my iPod.
Location: From the Olympic, walk north on Fifth through the shopping district. It's a few blocks to Westlake Mall and the monorail. A theatre is 1 block away.
I've been coming to the Olympic for 20+ years and have stayed here several dozen times. It has had ups and downs. It's on an "up" right now after the renovation this year. The rooms have a sleek contemporary look, the furnishings are first-rate, the thermostats are now readable (the old ones had ridiculously tiny digits), electrical outlets are everywhere now (no more need to unplug the coffeemaker to charge phones), the hot water in the shower is amazingly fast compared to before the renovation, and the staff continues to be first-rate. Visit a few times, and at least one of the senior doormen -- Danny, Bill, or Thien -- will seemingly remember you forever. The dining room food is again top-notch. After a period of coasting on its past glory, the Olympic is again earning every available star.

Such nice words from such a loyal guest. Thank you not only for your kind words but for staying with us for 20+ years. We are always happy to hear when especially or loyal guest enjoy the renovations but love the tradition of seeing the same doormen who remember you from previous visits. We will make sure Danny, Bill and Thien know you mentioned them and appreciate all they do to make your visits first-rate time after time. We cannot thank you enough for being such a loyal, long time guest and we hope we can welcome you back very soon. Regards, Markus Treppenhauer General Manager

Excellent stay

Posted 27-Nov-2016
The hotel was wonderful. The staff was very attentive. We had an issue with our room heat. We called the front desk and someone came in 5 minutes and took care of the issue. I was very impressed with the service. Great location with a short walk to Pike Place Market, shopping and many restaurants. I will stay again when I am in town.

Thanksgiving getaway

Posted 26-Nov-2016
Pros: I loved that the hotel staff was able to check us in early to our room and allowed for us to check out later even though the hotel was full.
Cons: Nothing
Location: The hotel provides its guests a town car service to nearby shopping and attractions. We used the town car service for dining at the Wild Ginger.
We spent Thanksgiving 2017 with family at the fairmont. The downtown Seattle location was ideal for shopping, dining and watching the Seattle's Macy's Thanksgiving parade. The staff was friendly, attentive and accommodating. The hotel feels relaxing, luxurious and simply beautiful with all the holiday decorations. Our kids loved the indoor swimming pool and the teddy bear suite. I loved being able to wind down and let others take care of our holiday plans. The room was comfortably sized with cozy pillow top beds.

Sounds as if you had the perfect Thanksgiving getaway with your family. Thank you for spending your precious family time with us and we hope we turned some moments into memories for all of you. Our car service is wonderful and often times under utilized so we are happy to see you took advantage of it. This is definitely a favorite time of the year for all of us here at the Olympic and thank you so much for sharing your kind words and recommendation to other TipAdvisor users.

Nice downtown getaway

Posted 23-Nov-2016
Pros: Room was very well laid out in the new refurbishment. Nice size bathroom.
Cons: Staff. Asked during check-in on Friday night to get Sat reservations for afternoon tea. They either lost the request or delayed it until too late.
Location: Belle Epicurean bakery in lower level is first rate!!! Highly recommend. Capitol Grille across street. Mod Pizza is 1 block away.
Overall very nice. Stayed the weekend in Seattle. For being the "grand hotel for Seattle" it is a little overpriced and amenities are not what you would expect in a 4-5 star hotel. Breakfast at Georgian was good not great. No dinner place in hotel. Bell service/valet was first rate. Desk clerks could improve.
