Great location central to the core city.

Posted 14-Apr-2017
Pros: Classy hotel and well informed staff, with a central locatwon, close to public transit.
Cons: Shuckers Restaurant while offering excellent food, was overpriced. We had a better meal at a local restaurant, Tullios, about 1 block away.
Location: Underground tour, public library was very interesting, especially the Red Floor, We were close to the Seattle Art Museum, and was able to Pike Place.
Great concierge Nancy, was well informed about the city and made out trip wonderful. She helped us plan effectively and efficiently for our limited stay. Her love of people and her job was clear, she is an assist to the hotel.

Great service, beautify hotel

Posted 12-Apr-2017
Pros: Location was perfect for our visit to Benaroya Hall. Very quick & easy to the I-5 North on ramp compared to the usual gauntlet from other hotels.
What a beautiful hotel! The service, accommodations & location make The Fairmont Olympic well worth the price. From the moment we pulled up to the valet we were impressed with the friendly service & willingness to help. The check in process was one of the fastest I've ever experienced and we received an upgrade without having to ask! The lobby is beautiful & well decorated. After a night out at the Seattle Symphony (just 5 min walk) we finished a great date night in the hotel bar enjoying delicious signature cocktails at a reasonable price (with snacks!) The Fairmont Olympic made our quick getaway to the city a wonderful, romantic date weekend!

Great but one bad experience ruined our stay.

Posted 30-Mar-2017
Pros: The room was clean and well appointed.
Cons: The Fairmont Olympic Hotel could be family friendly by including more lounge areas for families. We have stayed at many high end hotels that have lar
Location: The location was central and we could walk to many local attractions. The train station was close to get further without needing a car.
The room was perfect and clean. It was loud because we were on a lower level. If you pay more, then you can have a room on a higher floor which I assume means less traffic noise. I didn't find this troublesome. The hotel staff was pleasant and helpful. Although the front desk associate emphasized that the Fairmont is a family friendly hotel, this is not what we experience. Unless you want to hang out at the pool or the restaurant, there is no place for a family to relax. I specifically asked the front desk associate for recommendations for a place within the hotel to relax as a family, Dad can have a beer, and we can talk without being in our room (which was nice but no room to sit and talk). I was concerned because my daughter is 16 so I specifically asked the front desk associate if the lounge in the hotel lobby was acceptable for under 21 person. She said of course, this is a great place for a family. I asked if there would be any problem and she said no, the Fairmont supports family stays. She must not have understood that I was being careful and didn't want a negative experience. We couldn't find a table in the lounge area that was clean, but there was a table just inside the doors to the bar. The waitress did not handle her task effectively. She approached the table and said she needs to see my daughter's ID because only someone who is 21 and older can be in the lounge area. I will say hat she was professional but did not take into consideration that

Thank you for staying with us and for the feedback. It sounds as if overall you enjoyed your stay and the hotel. We apologize for the confusion in the Terrace Bar but there are strict guidelines which we must follow in order to stay compliant with state laws. The entire lobby and Terrace Lounge is family friendly minus the small actual bar area where you sat. Please accept our apology for any inconvenience you experienced and hope you will return so that we might make it up to you. Regards, Markus Treppenhauer General Manager

Beautiful hotel & centrally located

Posted 20-Mar-2017
Pros: Luxury hotel at its best. Staff is incredibly attentive without being obnoxious, grounds & rooms are spotless. Very comfortable & tasteful decor.
Cons: Smaller-than-expected pool, no restrictions on children for a late-night swim or soak. Exorbitantly over-priced room service menu.
Location: Couldn't be in a better location! Pike Place Market nearby, shopping, dining, etc. Everything you need is right there, or a short cab ride away.
My other half & I wanted to treat ourselves to a nice hotel in Seattle for the weekend and chose the Fairmont, based upon its reputation. From the time we arrived until the time we checked out, we were treated with the utmost professionalism & given the attention that royalty might receive. Valets are at your service, doormen very kind, and the rest of the staff is excellent as well. Not knowing it was our anniversary, reception upgraded us to a suite at no additional charge upon checking in - adding a nice touch to our experience. After a night out, the lounge is a wonderful, intimate spot for a nightcap. Normally we don't "do" hotel lounges, but I'm happy we tried this one only to return the next night! My only complaints: the smaller-than-expected pool (which was chock-full of screaming children for our adults-only anniversary trip) and the very high-priced in-room dining menu (20% gratuity charged, plus another line to add more tip + $4 delivery charge for room service...why not just increase the already exorbitant prices?). My hope is that the Fairmont adjusts their pool policy to exclude children from the pool & spa area after 6 or 7pm. It is impossible to relax in the hot tub or go for a swim with children splashing about & screaming. Other than those two minor things, it's lovely! Highly recommend the Fairmont Olympic!
