Great Location, Small Room and Bathroom

Posted 13-Jan-2018
The location of he hotel was great. About a 10-15 minute walk to Pike’s Place and other must see areas in Seattle. The pictures of the room look open and spacious online, but the room is cramped with a desk and tv stand that limit the space. The bathroom was extremely small so keep that in mind if you’re a big and tall person. Me and my girlfriend didn’t enjoy barely having any elbow space when inside the bathroom. Other than that, the staff was awesome and there is free wine tasting there from 5-6pm!

Great location, good for a quick getaway

Posted 09-Jan-2018
The hotel is minutes from public transportation that takes you straight to the airport and other cool destinations. It’s also a short walk to the Pike Place Market and the Columbia Center. The staff is very friendly. I do have to say the rooms are small and that my room did not have a fridge. Other than that, I would stay here again for a quick trip and would recommend the hotel to those who aren’t so much interested in a luxury stay but who want an affordable and practical hotel room.

Nice renovated hotel in downtown

Posted 03-Jan-2018
Location: The location is within walking distance to shopping and downtown activities. The location is nearby, a short bus or taxi ride to other attractions.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean. The sleep was comfortable.

Old, musky tiny rooms, cheap uncomfortable beds

Posted 21-Dec-2017
We stayed 1 night- all I could handle ! Check-in was great, staff were friendly and professional , the valet parking was pretty expensive - when we checked into our room it was musky smelling and very small , the beds are cheap and really uncomfortable - all we heard all night was large trucks backing up with their beeping and dumping loud things of garbage and metal?? We didn’t sleep and left completely exhausted A we mentioned this to the staff - all they could say was sorry ! I don’t not recommend this place - they need to upgrade the room, beds and windows to minimize noise !

Hello Anonymous. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your feedback. Any and all input is very important to us. I do apologize for the sounds of the city. Being that our location is in very close proximity to most downtown Seattle attractions, unfortunately the sound is a large part of that. But I can assure you, it quiets down at a very reasonable hour. As for the musky smell, again, I do apologize. Had you informed the front desk immediately, we would have been more than happy to offer some sort of complimentary upgrade or at the very least, taken care of the odor for you. I can assure you that musky odors are not common for us. I also apologize for the size of the rooms. Being that we are an older, boutique hotel, this is unfortunately one of the down sides. However, I'm glad our customer service was able shine through for you. We pride ourselves on our guest relations and I am very happy that you enjoyed the staff. Parking is definitely a bit of a disaster in this city but I can assure you that our nightly rate (that includes valet service) is extremely reasonable for most hotels in the area. You'll also be happy to know that we are currently upgrading several rooms! So the next time you stay with us, and we would absolutely love to have you again, these upgrades should be implemented. If you did in fact stop by the front desk to address your issues and all that was said was "sorry" then I do apologize. Your issues should have been addressed immediately and there is no excuse on our end. Again, thank you very much for leaving us feedback. It means the world to us! We look forward to having you back again soon! -Thomas- Front Desk Supervisor

Staff at the desk is excellent.

Posted 19-Dec-2017
Desk staff was excellent with everything we needed. Rooms without tubs in the bath are questionable because of the configuration of the layout, seemed like they should not be used. Other rooms are great.

Worst bed ever and 37 dollar parking

Posted 14-Dec-2017
I needed a room for one night mid-week so I checked my Expedia app and this was really close by and showed a rate of 98 bucks a night. So I booked the most basic of basic rooms since it was just me and I didn’t need anything special. First surprise when I got there is parking is 37 dollars..but I could park on the street if I could find a spot. This is downtown with heavy traffic. Probably not going to find a spot. So the rate essentially jumped to 135 plus Tax. The staff was very nice, but THE BED was probably original to the hotel. The mattress itself was creaky and I could literally feel the springs right through it. If this wasn’t non-refundable I would’ve left. Terrible nights sleep. Expedia needs to just add the parking fee on to the nightly rate. I think 99% of people who stay at a hotel will actually want to park their car there..

Hello Michael! Thank you very much for the feedback. I do apologize for the surprise of the parking fee upon your arrival. Unfortunately, being that Seattle is a major city, parking is attached as a fee to many if not most hotels in the downtown area. For next time, we would be more than happy to introduce you to our parking packages that we have available. These rates have parking included and are often our best rate. Thank you for your compliments about the staff! We pride ourselves on our customer service and I am very glad that was able to shine through. I apologize about the bed. We have done several renovations throughout the years and the bedding has definitely been included in that process. Please do not hesitate next time to inform the front desk and we would be more than happy to change rooms for you. If you do decide to stay with us again, and we would love to have you, and your experience is less than perfect, we would be more than happy to refund your room and tax if you decide to leave. Again, I apologize for your experience and I very much appreciate you leaving feedback. Have a wonderful evening! -Thomas- Front Desk Supervisor

Reasonably Priced, Older Facilities

Posted 12-Dec-2017
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: * The water pressure in the shower was extremely low and trickled out of the shower head. Please fix it. * A microwave would be a great plus
Location: Hotel is walking distance to restaurants, but you'll need to go out of downtown to find entertainment. Area around hotel is mostly commercial offices.
LOCATION - in downtown Seattle and within walking distance to Pike's Place. Fairly walkable, but heads up on the uphill streets. Wear comfortable shoes - it can be challenging walking around otherwise. HOTEL STAFF - courteous and friendly. Checked in and checked out without incident. They even offered locally sourced fuji apples at the front desk. FACILITIES - there is a small workout room with treadmills available if you want to use it. Nothing too fancy, but if you just want to do something quick indoors, you can. There's also a wine hour at 5pm for hotel guests, so it's a good option if you want to relax for an hour. ROOM - I imagine it's because the hotel is one of the historically preserved buildings in town, but the hallways seemed narrow and the doors to the hotel rooms seemed rather small. At first, I thought I was given the keycard to a closet door. The light to the room was a very soft yellow and gave the small space a very old-timey vibe. I was a little skeptical at first about how dark it was. The lamps helped brighten up the place, but I've definitely stayed in much brighter hotel rooms. The carpet is a little on the older side so I'd recommend wearing flip flops or shoes walking around just in case, but don't go barefoot. Same for the shower. WiFi is available for free if you need it. BATHROOM - you had to close the door behind you in order to use the toilet. Very small space. Wear flip flops in the shower, by the way. Could have been cleaner.

Hello and thank you for your candid review. This really helps steer the property in the right direction when we're thinking about improvements. Our building was built in 1929, so you're absolutely right about the building being considered historical. We have to work with the space we have, but we are going to use the space to it's full potential. We have just started a major renovation of the rooms. All of the furniture will be replaced, light bulbs will be changed out, fridge/microwave will be placed in each room in an open California style closet set up, some bathrooms will have the bath taken out and become shower only rooms, new carpeting and trim, and this is only a fraction of what we have started. I'm extremely excited about the direction were going, and this wouldn't be possible without feedback from our guests, We would love to have you back in the future for another chance to WOW you. All the best!
