The hotel was convenient for the purpose of my one-day visit to Kingussie. An unusual and original layout, being a converted Croft. Single room comfortable and I'd rate it as adequate. Restaurant a bit canteen-ish but menu and cooking both fine.

This beautiful part of Scotland is only a 30 minute drive from central Glasgow. And you'll find there are plenty of historical sites to get hitched in, including medieval castles, 18th century Baroque estates and traditional inns. Couples might choose to share nuptials near the shores of the many lochs that litter the area, or even hold the ceremony on a boat in Loch Lomond itself.
Inverness is often referred to as the Capital of the Highlands and is a gateway to some really popular wedding venues. Keep it modern in the city with a luxury hotel overlooking the River Ness or step back in time at Urquhart Castle or Dunrobin Castle. Another option is to exchange vows on the banks of Loch Ness - you never know, the mythical beast herself might turn up in the background of the wedding photos to make the occasion truly magical.
