Woodland setting with excellent family facilities

Posted 06-Mar-2017
We visited in a very snowy week and the scenery was super. The hotel staff were outstanding, the food was excellent and the gentle entertainment in the evening was just right. However the absence of a lift was a problem for me. We asked for a quiet room and were offered the second floor. This was ideal but four flights of stairs were a struggle for someone with back problems. Also the stairwells and corridors are definitely looking a bit tired and in need of upgrade. However the rooms, tho quite compact, are adequate and the bathroom was fine with an excellent shower. Perhaps a softer mattress wd have been my choice too. Overall we had a lovely stay and will DEF be back. The staff were outstanding in their manner, service and attentiveness to our every comfort. I cannot commend them highly enough. Our meals were excellent too. The breakfasts had a super selection of hot food and our evening dinners were of a high quality. An excellent place for a few restful scenic days away

Nice dog friendly hotel in beautiful surroundings.

Posted 26-Feb-2017
Pros: The area and the fact you can bring your dog. The restaurant is good and the atmosphere of the hotel great.
Cons: The rooms are perhaps a little "tired", but the beds are good. A couple of comfortable chairs would be nice.
Location: The location is simply magnificent and if you like walking and wildlife I don't think you would find a better place in the UK.
We have been to this hotel before and find it very friendly and welcoming. The facilities are good and the surrounding scenery and walks fantastic.

Family friendly hotel in fab location

Posted 25-Feb-2017
To begin with I was a little disappointed with the hotel. The room was tired-looking, we were positioned at the top of the stairs so it was noisy, the shower was poor, the tv didn't always work and the swimming pool change area was cramped. However, the communal areas are sociable, comfy and relaxing. The food and service in the restaurants at breakfast and evenings was outstanding. The evening entertainment was an unexpected bonus and the children loved the pool, playground and soft play. I would go back as the area is gorgeous and I think on balance the hotel was good value for money and really suits families.

Pros: the location and the pool were great. the log cabin bar is a secret hideaway!
Cons: the childrens menu is the same in all of the resturants. a bit more effort would be apprecited.
Location: the bike trails and walks looked good, but we just skiid, and it was the best location for that!
great location for the slopes! the hotel is busy and family friendly, the food is good and it is clean and a pleasant stay.

Nice hotel but needs money spent on it. Not usual Hilton standards although staff were lovely.

Ideal para famílias

Posted 19-Jan-2017
