Woodland setting with excellent family facilities
We visited in a very snowy week and the scenery was super. The hotel staff were outstanding, the food was excellent and the gentle entertainment in the evening was just right.
However the absence of a lift was a problem for me. We asked for a quiet room and were offered the second floor. This was ideal but four flights of stairs were a struggle for someone with back problems.
Also the stairwells and corridors are definitely looking a bit tired and in need of upgrade. However the rooms, tho quite compact, are adequate and the bathroom was fine with an excellent shower. Perhaps a softer mattress wd have been my choice too.
Overall we had a lovely stay and will DEF be back. The staff were outstanding in their manner, service and attentiveness to our every comfort. I cannot commend them highly enough. Our meals were excellent too. The breakfasts had a super selection of hot food and our evening dinners were of a high quality.
An excellent place for a few restful scenic days away
