Lovely family hotel with lots to do close by

Posted 28-Jul-2016
Pros: It's very child friendly. Staff are always welcome and the location.
Cons: The food! The breakfast is great but there is very few options for vegetarians. I've been eating the same main meal for the past 4 or 5 years.
Location: That's why we go to this hotel for the lovely walks, beautiful scenery and for the many activities.
We have been going there every year for the last 6 years. Our daughters love going for the two swimming pools, massive softplay and swing park. Plus, there is lots to do close in and around Aviemore. It's great for both summer and winter.

Hilton Aviemore

Pros: see experience.
Cons: see experience
Location: see experience
The hotel is situated in beautiful surroundings, but what struck us that the required facilities as a wheelchair user were hardly available and not very adequate. Another negative point is that the beds were not very good either, for someone with spinal cord issues a very negative point. On the plus should be mentioned that the staff was ready and willing to help and that the restaurant was very good, but in general this hotel was the least of those we stayed in during our holidays in Scotland.

2stars on a good day. RipOff. Dirty. Old.Worn.Bad.

Posted 04-Jun-2016
Pros: the chance to leave in the morning
Cons: everything
Location: in a nice area for outdoor activities... better to sleep outside though.
This was a humongous disappointment. First off Expedia (and all other 3rd party aggregators) and Hilton ought to be fined for deceptive advertising. I paid $150 for a room that should've been more like $50. It was an absolute disgrace: dirty, old, worn, smelly. I was afraid to let my feet touch the floor...you name it, the rooms were atrocious: hair in the sink, rusty bathtub, ripped bedding, carpeting that has not been vacuumed let alone cleaned in years... absolutely disgusting. I would recommend people go pitch a tent rather than stay at this dump.

A mediocre hotel with wonderful possibilities

Posted 27-Apr-2016
Pros: I liked the space available in the front lounge. It was warm. Staff were extremely helpful. The cost for 1 night dinner, bed& breakfast was good.
Cons: The dining room most certainly.
Location: Wonderful location- walking , skiing, sailing, cycling, swimming to name but a few. In as much as I was only there for 1 night I cannot name more.
This hotel is has changed greatly in the last 15 years. It definately needs updating. My main complaint is the dinning room which is quite the grimmest restaurant I have ever been in especially at breakfast time. It is in a wonderful situation overlooking the Cairngorms, near Loch Morlich. It is a shame it's full potential has not been exploited.

From first arriving the staff were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast buffet was to a high standard with the kids really liking the make your own waffles. Well situated with great facilities.

Family skiing holiday

Fantastic location for a family skiing holiday. The hotel staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool was great for my 6 & 4 yr old. Would definitely return.
