Expensive view of roof top

Posted 25-Jun-2017
My daughter and I managed to get at short notice two rooms for one night. Unfortunately all they had was two rooms each containing two double beds but we thought well it was a treat so we booked online. The rooms cost £149 each so we expected something decent but were disappointed. The rooms looked out onto a flat roof top and were I have to say a little jaded and shabby. The pictures probably looked that that when the hotel was fist built but not now. Wouldn't go back.

Excellent location for enjoying the Cairngorms

Posted 30-May-2017
Pros: Location! It's handy for the Reindeer Centre, Glenmore and Rothiemurchus. We also went to the RSPB reserve at Boat of Garten.
Cons: I think the dinner service was really slow. The dinners were very tasty but it took a long time.... Breakfast was superb as it was a buffet.
Location: It's just a few miles from Aviemore, which we avoided! We went to the Reindeer Centre an don the hill trip. We had a circular walk up to Ryvoan Bothy.
My daughter and I stayed here after going on a camping trip in the Linn of Dee. It was a treat after a tent. We have been several times before but never in May. It was good to go swimming, play tennis and have your meals made!

In need of renovation

Posted 29-May-2017
Once grand hotel still stuck in the 80s. Really needs some renovation to bring it up to Hilton standards. Avoid Room 281 - very small, warm and noisy from generator (?) outside.

Decent hotel close to Aviemore/Glenmore

Posted 27-May-2017
Pros: Location, everything worked
Cons: Cool the place down a bit
Location: Good, undemanding walks at Glenmore and Loch an Eilein. Note that you can still park at Loch an Eilein even when the parking assistant isn't there.
Stayed here because I got a good rate for half board and I wanted to be near to Glenmore. Plenty of food choice, lots of parking spaces, free wifi. Friendly and helpful staff. Room (and the hotel in general) seemed several degrees warmer than necessary. Maybe not the most visually exciting building and rooms but excellent for a base.

Nice area very quiet

Posted 15-May-2017
Nice entrance, lounge and restaurant areas. Let down by the oldness of the corridors and rooms, expected modern rooms could do with upgrade. Meals were nice but as I'm a plain eater think they could add 1 meal that would suit that person. Unfortunately bed was very hard and uncomfortable so sadly my husband and I didn't get much sleep. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and all areas good for children.

Perfect place to visit with the family.

Posted 24-Apr-2017
Pros: Family facilities. Ground floor, interconnecting rooms.
Cons: Some furnishings beginning to look a wee bit weary but rooms clean and tidy mometheless.
Location: Loads to do in the area. Strathspey Railway, Cairngorm Mountain, Highland Wildlife Park, Landmark Centre etc etc but there is also plenty at the hotel
Returned yesterday from another great weekend at Coylumbridge. Really can't fault the hotel, staff and facilities at all. We booked on a half board basis and the food was to everyone's choice. The Saturday evening buffet had a great choice, and breakfast offered anything anyone could ever ask for. The only (tiny!) gripe I has that was our decaffinated coffee supplies weren't replenished in the room for our second night but I had my own anyway so it wasn't really an issue. I know that had I rung reception, I would have been brought some.
