"close to Eilean Donan Castle"
The hotel is close to both Eilean Donan Castle and the bridge to Isle of Skye. Food at the hotel's onsite restaurant was delicious. Hotel and restaurant staff were friendly. Internet (wifi) access is primarily available only in common rooms and not in the hotel rooms themselves.

"Good for Fort William and Ben Nevis"
This hotel was one of the few in Fort William (through Expedia) to have a vacancy for the time we wanted to be there, and I feel it was very expensive for a two star hotel. We were in the section away from the main hotel; this is being refurbished and it needs it, although our rooms were clean, well equipped, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of hot and cold items on the buffet bar. The hotel is a good 20 minute walk away from Fort William, but caters for walkers and hill climbers, so they would not be concerned at that.

"Lots for kids to do, + entertainment for adults"
Close to Aviemore and Cairngorm. Swimming pool, gym, indoor + outdoor kids play areas (great for rainy days, plus tea & coffee cheaper in soft play area!) Staff very helpful & friendly. Buffet meals were great; BUT some items on a la carte menu were TINY - our men were still very hungry after three courses! Evening entertainment in (huge) lounge was excellent - traditional Scottish group called "Tweed" one night was really great. We just could not understand why, with a ground floor and TWO upper floors, THERE ARE NO ELEVATORS/LIFTS???? Hotel was fully booked on both our nights there, so no upgrades available, but even "basic" rooms had plenty of storage space and comfy beds. Would go back!

"Heavenly peace"
Port Appin is a beautiful location, really quiet and peaceful,we enjoyed having some time to 'switch off' and just enjoy the beauty of the nature around us. The Pierhouse is positioned right on the loch and has wonderful views,a fantastic menu of excellent quality local produce, comfortable clean quality rooms. All the staff were extremely friendly and we just felt so relaxed, lovely for a few days stay. I would recommend getting a room with a view it's definitely worth the extra cost. If wanting treatments book well ahead of your stay as the therapist gets very busy.

"Comfortable, clean, good price. "
I stopped through here during a brief overnight stop. The place was comfortable, the rooms was quite large and the beds were nice, staff were good and got me checked in very quickly. Nothing amazing and to complain about. When I was booking I noticed a few people attack the decor, etc for it being out of date - welcome to a small regional town people. For me this only enhances the experience. My only suggestion would be to shut the windows before you go to bed - I left mine open and was woken up at 4am by some very loud seabirds nearby.

"Lovely hotel in gorgeous location"
We had gale force winds and rain for the 2 days we were there but still managed to enjoy our time there. We had a lovely big room with a sofa, huge bathroom with beautiful bath and separate shower. Food was amazing in the restaurant and the bar. Friendly staff on hand all the time. Highly recommend!

"Great view and location "
We had a beautiful view of the river from our room. Building is beautiful. Rooms were just a little tired but clean. Lots of nice sitting areas on the main floor. Super handy to the rail system and downtown area. Cannot get wifi in the rooms without paying was the downside, but was free in the common areas.
