"good value "
I would definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable overnight stay at what was a very reasonable price for myself. I was on single occupancy but was "upgraded" to a double. Room 7 was more than adequate but a bit tired and had coomb ceilings so watch your head.

"Initial problems with booking, sorted quickly"
My partner and I stayed here recently, there was a problem with our booking that was seemingly the fault of the computer. Receptionist couldn't have been any more helpful and sorted the issue in a timely manner. Breakfast was very tasty and rooms were, although a bit out dated clean and comfortable

"A work in progress."
New owners and still a fair bit of work to do, it's a very old building that's had a lot of the character removed in the past. Clean but slightly shabby rooms. Breakfast was a full English, a bit disappointing in the Scottish Borders! Reasonable value as long as you're not looking for luxury.
Traveller from Lothians and Warwickshire.
