Dear Janet, Thank you for your review, it's clear from this and the emails that you have sent to us that you weren't happy, but it is sad that you didn't mention your concerns to us during the two days of your stay so that we could address them. I even met you in the street, and though you looked glum (you were visiting elderly relatives, so I imagined that was the issue), you didn't say anything other than 'hello'. We can’t really help if you complain after the event, and there were several things we could have done to help.We would normally ask if everything was OK when you check out, but as you left without speaking to anyone, or indeed paying your bill, that wasn’t possible.

Friendly owners and staff. Excellent breakfasts and location is central for neighbouring communities and Traquair in particular. Very enjoyable stay which we have recommended to friends and relatives.

Superb place to stay. Only there for one night but can’t recommend it highly enough. Extremely clean, warm and cosy, excellent breakfast, in choice and taste and a very warm welcome from mine host. 5 Star rating all the way. Thank you for a lovely stay.

amazing stay, only small problem it was a so so Wi-Fi in our room, while in the common parts it was ok. The surroundings were stunning and the guest house is fantastic !

Stayed for 1 night. Had a lovely spacious room with 2 aspects. Very comfortable, homely and spotless. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. We left regretting that we weren’t able to stay longer. Had Avery good meal at Saffron in the town. Excellent Indian food with huge portions.

Host Steve is a total legend. I arrived cold and tired from a 130 mile 8.5hr bike ride. He already had the macaroni and beer on stand by!! Room was uber comfortable and cosy. And really felt like i was the first to sleep in the bed Zzzz. I will be back when next in the area. Thank you so much

Everything was excellent. The only reason I knocked a star off the room rating was because there was a continual buzzing noise through the night which was irritating and disturbed sleep. Excellent breakfast.

A real find
The guest house is a spacious, airy and well-run place from which to explore Tweeddale and the Borders. We certainly hope to return :-)

The place was impeccable- the room was cozy, furnished to a high standard and you could really tell that they care about the guests' comfort. The breakfast was delicious, the service was great, the hosts friendly, and the town itself historic, quiet and full of nature all around. Mostly impressively clean were the sheets, gown, towels and we slept well as well. Will definitely stay here again if I am on the way!

Generally good stay Bath Room is built into the room looks like taking space from the room and hard ventilation When registering to the room a couple of days before arrival I was charges 20 Pounds directly by the hotel When Checking Out I was charged 55 pound Together it was 75 pounds , but the Hotel Owner said I got a reduction and that's why I pay only 55 pound Hotels.com specified the price is 75 pounds So what actually did I need to pay

Nice B&B in quiet town <hour from Edinburgh
Very pleasant owner. Quite a nice breakfast. Arrived early and was greeted and arrangements were made to accommodate. Easy access to parking off street. Nice Indian restaurant also in the town - highly recommended.

Great place
Caddon veiw is in a beautiful location, was welcomed by Steve, room was lovely and clean. Food was great. Service is great in fact next time we go to Scotland we will probably stay at Caddon again. Also noticed it was much cleaner then the last hotel we stayed in ( Hilton )

Breakfasts were excellent. Parking was very tight. No fresh towels provided during stay. No restocking of amenities (tissues, cookies, tea bags, etc.) Did not make themselves available for local knowledge (not warm and friendly). Immediate greeting was to tell us all the things we didn't do by email during the booking process. Noise on ground level room was awful as room is immediately beside front door. B&B is also right on the highway and subject to traffic noise and that was not clear in advertisement. Room was clean but very worn furniture. Ventilation was inadequate and tight quarters in bathroom (claustrophobic).

Recently stayed at the Caddon View in Innerleithen. I arrived earlier than planned and only had to wait a few minutes for my room to be ready. While the room was comfortable, the location wasn't ideal; street facing & by the main entrance used by all guests to enter/exit the property. As a result, if you're a light sleeper verify the location of your room. The breakfast was delicious and available until 10a daily. The room was equipped with a private bathroom (shower stall), a kettle with cups, tea/coffee, hot chocolate, milk (real milk, not milkettes) and biscuits. TV and radio.

Traditional hotel with plenty of character
Originally built as a Victorian doctor's surgery, this hotel was sturdy, elegant and well-appointed. The owners were welcoming and very friendly, with plenty of suggestions for where to eat in the evening. Breakfast next day was served swiftly and efficiently and was very good.

Spent 2 nights at Caddon View. Room very comfortable and breakfasts very good. Lovely part of Scotland especially in the Autumn with the trees so colourful. Would not hesitate to use Caddon View on a future visit.

Excellent and relaxing
We had a lovely relaxing time, the room was a superior room and it certainly lived up to it's name. The breakfast was excellent, we also decided to have a evening meal and this was outstanding. We will go back and highly recommend the guest house.
