I booked the hotel for a weekend away in November, on the principle that if the weather outside was awful at least the facilities inside would be enough to keep us entertained and allow us to relax. The hotel was perfectly located overlooking the sea, and only a short walk from the town centre.
I assume that the prices are reflective more of the location overlooking the sea than the actually facilities, because although they were nice, because of the age of the building they were limited in size. We generally were out during the day and only used the pool and spa area towards the end of the day so it was pretty deserted but If there happens to be a couple of families or on large group of individuals you won't get a look in.
We also had an issue with a leak in our bathroom that we reported but wasn't attended to during our stay, which although wasn't the end of the world, I think is pretty poor for a hotel that sells itself as luxury.

Great location and good views if you have room at front of property. However, rooms were very small and our bathroom was very tiny.
Hotel provides parking disc for free street parking.
Property adequate for an overnight stay.
We stayed for two nights in a standard room, which was clean and comfortable. Breakfast tasted good and there was a good selection, only down side was that the staff made a mistake and said we hadn't paid for breakfast when we had, but the mistake was soon rectified once we went to reception to clarify. This was annoying but didn't impact on our stay. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment at the moment but again this did not effect our stay in anyway. I would recommend a cheap comfortable hotel and a pleasant break.
Although the hotel car park has one or two small pot holes, which played havoc with my AMG , this was not to be a factor in the enjoyment of the overall stay. We had two nights there and the highlight for the hotel is the location. The stunning views across to Robin Hoods Bay at breakfast was outstanding. The breathtaking position perched on the top of the headland only served to enhance the vistas.
The staff were extremely courteous and nothing was too much trouble for them, they were polite and well spoken which these days is very important.
The panelled lounge with a hearty fire made for a relaxing late afternoon high tea.

Very charming hosts and plenty of local information in the room with good recommendations. Décor a bit too flowery for my taste but perfectly comfortable and room had all the thoughtful essentials like a hairdryer etc that one still can't always take for granted in smaller establishments. I would return without hesitation. Sea room also had fab view.
Set on the North Sea, this Yorkshire town is a popular English holiday destination. Scarborough offers two beaches, a fish market, and a waterfront promenade. Scarborough Castle sits on a rocky point overlooking the town. This local landmark dates back to the 12th century, and was bombed during World War I.
