Tall Storey's is a lovely, tall(!) Regency town house toward the top of the cliffs, above Scarborough Harbour and just below the Castle. It is an easy 20 minute walk from the rail station (drop into the Market Hall on the way) or a somewhat more strenuous walk up the hill from South Beach! The rooms are medium-sized and nicely furnished with four poster beds and armchairs. (I hate hotel rooms where you have to sit on the bed!)
Ian and Morna are welcoming and accommodating. True, there is no lift and the stairs are rather steep and narrow, but if you are OK with this, it is a charming place to stay. We have stayed in Room 4 about 4 times now and we love just sitting and looking out the window at the boats coming and going in the harbour. The rooms are very quiet, though the seagulls can make a bit of a racket in the morning, but that is the seaside! The house is in a great location for all the attractions and has some nice eateries nearby. (We recommend Clark's and Lanterna.)
Good showers and toiletries; tea and coffee with biscuits and mints in the room. Breakfasts are good quality and plentiful. Nice fruit, good cooked items. The only small item I can say that is a tinyh criticism is that sometimes there is a bit of a smell from the drains, but nothing much and in an old house like this, it can only be expected sometimes.
