Pretty Good

Posted 03-Jul-2017
Pleasant stay all round , nice location, on North Bay near Peasholm Park and Scarborough Open Air Theatre. Albeit on a bit of a hill so may not suit those with walking difficulties. Helpful proprietors, welcoming feel to the hotel, typical and standard facilities, great breakfast choices and ample English brekky. Parking seems to be no real problem. Would consider staying here again, but in my view its a 3 star rating which takes nothing away from my stay there.

Great Location

Stayed here as we were going to a concert close by. Hotel is in a great location but parking can be difficult when busy. Room had a great view of North Bay and breakfast was really good with an excellent choice.

One night only

Posted 25-Jun-2017
Pros: Peace and quiet.
Cons: Maybe larger towels for longer stays.
Location: On nort side of Scarborough close yo peasome park. Open air theatre and easy life centre. Note of caution buses to South Bay stop at 6:00pm .
We stayed at Norlands for one night only to be at armed forces day in Scarborough. We arrived a little early but our room was ready. Parked on road gir free ( always a bonus). We were given room 1 which overlooked the front of hotel with views of the sea and castle. Room spotlessly clean bathroom huge with bath and shower with tipi letters towels usual size but adequate for us. Hospitality Tray had lovely chocolate chip cookies. Breakfast was between 8 and 9 that certainlly didn't disappoint, fresh fruit cereals yogurt and juice then a full English that was perfectly cooked. Some people do not like self service for the toast but for 35 pounds per person wr feel that is terrific value for money. With friendly hosts we would recomend this hotel wholeheartedly.

Home from home

Posted 03-Jun-2017
Cons: Please take time to read the Access Statement .... being a 1940s hotel there are no lifts so if you have mobility problems best contact Frank and Shar
Frank and Sharon do there up most to ensure your stay is a wonderful experience. Rooms are comfy and week appointed. The lounge and bar area warm abd welcoming, prices are very fair not like some hotels and the selection is varied. Breakfast is home cooked and plenty full. All in all a wonderful place to stay

Lovely hotel close to the venue

Posted 26-May-2017
Nice hotel, the owner made us very welcome and pointed out the restaurant and the guests lounge. The bedroom was clean and tidy with a comfortable bed, there was plenty of storage space. We used the guest lounge after we had been to the show we were served at the bar very promptly. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. Would stay there again

Nice place, well positioned

Posted 12-May-2017
Pros: As above
Cons: Installation of stair handrail on right hand side of stairs as climbing to first floor.
Hotel easy to find and well situated in a quiet area. Place clean as a new pin with excellent food and very pleasant and helpful owners who were knowledgeable about local attractions, facilities and places to visit. Thoroughly recommended and will certainly stay there again if visiting the area.

Ok Bed & Breakfast.

Posted 24-Apr-2017
Cons: A warm welcome would be a good start. Rooms need cleaning and airing after the winter!
Location: It's quite a walk from the main town centre. It took me 15 minutes, so some older guests would probably need to get a taxi.
I have to say it was an ok b & b. Felt a bit like an intruder rather than a guest as the owners had family staying. Room was cold and I had to ask for some heating in there. Dust on the lights, mould on the window frame and rusty bathroom shelf. There was also lots of condensation on the windows. I only had the breakfast on the Sunday.Mushrooms and tomatoes were still raw! Crying children in the private kitchen could be heard constantly whilst trying to eat.Very off putting, and several guests also commented on this. I personally wouldn't return .
