We arrived Monday and their restaurant does not open on mondays. They were kind enough to prepare us a meal since we had not eaten at all that day. Francheska and Ana Maria, our hosts for the time being, was amazing!!!

All the rooms shown seemed to indicate sea view ours did not. There were a lot of stairs and although there is a lift some may struggle with being placed at the top of the building. That said it is an old building and quirky which gives it its charm including the original reception desk from when it opened, I believe about 90 years ago by the grandmother. It is well run, clean and the staff friendly. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Lovely holiday at Villa Giuseppina Scala
Had a lovely relaxing stay. Anna Maria the lovely lady owner could not have been nicer. Cheerful and helpful looking after her guests herself along with her friendly staff members. Would recommend staying here and easy to reach surrounding areas Ravello and Amalfi.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The pool area, including lots of lounge chairs, umbrellas, and tables, was beautiful and comfortable. We appreciated that they had beach towels to borrow too. Breakfast was excellent with lots of variety, and we enjoyed the delicious dinners twice while we were staying there. The view from the hotel is spectacular and the location is quiet with plenty of free parking. The facility is a little bit dated, and the bathroom in our room was very small. Get a room with a balcony if you can, it's a great place to sit and enjoy the view of Ravello (which you can walk to in about 25 minutes) and the ocean in the distance. Bus service to the Amalfi coast towns is available in Scala, which is an 8 minute walk from the hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at this quiet and picturesque villa. The staff were the highlight for us. Friendly and personable. Went out of their way to ensure our stay was pleasant. Rooms are a bit outdated but this could also be a matter of taste. Breakfast was standard hotel fare, we enjoyed it. The hotel is located in an area that is easily accessible by bus, just make sure you don’t miss it, cabs will charge an extortionate amount for a 15 min ride to the coastline. My only complaint is the wifi at the hotel. It was weak and spotty a lot of the time. I hope this gets fixed. Otherwise lovely stay, would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Giuseppina. The hotel is a real gem tucked in the hills of Scala with lovely views across the valley to Ravello. Staying at this hotel is like being welcomed in to a family home, the owners are on site, always there ready to help out with their warm and friendly greetings. The atmosphere is traditional Italian family with eclectic and interesting decor to match. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean with sanitizer available throughout the hotel, temperature taken on arrival, masks worn indoors and records kept of pool visitors. At the moment the restaurant and bar are closed in the evening, but there are restaurants nearby which the owners are always happy to make a reservation for you at. The bar by the pool is open for drinks and snacks throughout the day (great sandwiches). Breakfast is very good with selections of pastries and fresh fruits varying every day along with cold meats, cheeses and eggs, all served at your request to avoid people touching the buffet. Ample parking is available should you drive, a regular bus service is available in the nearby town square should you not. The surrounding area is packed with crafts and culture with so much to see and do. We can't wait to come back in more 'normal' times when all the regular festivals and celebrations are reinstated.

From the moment I arrived Francesca, Silvia, Enzo, Carla and Anna Maria made me feel at home. High on the hill the views are breathtaking of Ravello and Scala. The villa has a luxurious pool and Silvia and Enzo made me the best iced espresso every morning with breakfast. It was the perfect home base to explore the entire Amalfi coast. I shall return to the villa next year it was a highlight of my Italian holiday.

This property was in the perfect location for us. It was high up on the mountain which gave us a spectacular view, of the ocean, the neighbouring towns and the beautiful outdoor pool. It was a 10 minute drive to the neighbouring town of Ravello, and a 15/20 drive to the coast of Amalfi. Within Scala it was a short walk to grocery stores and some local restaurants. The hotel itself was decent. Service was just okay, and the rooms are a little outdated and small. However the balconies are huge and the view is worth every cent per night. Would definitely recommend this location as opposed to staying in the view of Amalfi or Ravello. The only set back was that service was not fantastic, simple requests seem to bother a lot of the staff. Like asking for ice seemed to be a big deal. A lot of staff lacked overall friendliness and approachability. However, there was one older man that ran breakfast every morning who was by far the nicest and friendliest in the entire facility. His hospitality added a lot of warmth to a generally cold staff. Also, I highly recommend not eating dinner here. We sat at our table and waited 20 minutes for a bottle of water which we asked for three separate times, we were served our appetizer and not given plates or cutlery which took another 20 minutes, and after all the wait it was the first time we actually had bad food on our entire trip in Italy.

The hotel needs an urgent update. The beds are horribly hard, the furnishings and decorations are from the 70s and have not been touched since. The view was however nice, and so was the breakfast.

Nice hotel with great views.
Nice hotel with a nice pool, great views from the terrace and bedroom. Bedroom a bit tight for space and not enough draw or cupboard space. The shower cubicle space was also tight. Bedroom was very clean, it had a fridge and TV and a comfortable bed. The hotel was in a quiet position and a good 25/30 minute walk into Revello.

This hotel is ok, but very dated. The staff is nice except the woman at the front desk, Francesca, who constantly gives different information and varying prices. Also, was very displeased that I was charged an extra 120 Euros at the end of my stay for an extra bed in the room that I had already booked on hotels.com.

Fab family run hotel
Lovely hotel with amazing views across to Ravello and the hills. The staff were friendly and so helpful. The hotel was so clean and very well kept. The BBQ evening offered really lovely foods with an extensive range of cold dishes. Would recommend you do not bring a car especially during August despite the availability of parking within the hotel due to manically busy roads and lack of parking along the Amalfi coastline. There is a good bus service available which takes you into Ravello and Amalfi where you can connect to loats of coastal towns by boat.

Great value hotel in a beautiful setting
Rooms are basic and traditionally furnished, but clean and perfectly adequate. Could do with a small safe in the rooms. Incredible views over to Ravello from the balcony and public areas. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Food was all very good, although perhaps a bit procure than you might expect. Good value for money stay.

Beautiful location, but lacking some comforts
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Amalfi for a quiet, peaceful night's sleep in fresh mountain air then Villa Giuseppina is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. The views from their many terraces - bar, restaurant, breakfast and bedroom terraces, pool - are stunning, truly awe-inspiring. We hired a car for the week, and the drive to Amalfi was not too inconvenient, taking only 10-15mins max (in early July). There are regular shuttle buses from the town square if you don't want to drive. Ravello is only 5mins away across the valley (walking distance if you're fit!) and is another beautiful spot to visit, wander around and eat in. It also hosts world-renowned music festivals each summer. Our only complaints concern certain hotel amenities; mid-meal snacks are not formally on offer, so if you can't get to breakfast by 9.30am, or if you miss lunch and can't wait for the restaurant to open in the evening you might go hungry. The bar staff were very accommodating though and did what they could when asked. Wi-Fi is strictly limited to the reception area of the hotel, which means you're stuck with italian-language TV if you want an evening in vegging, and you'll have to Skype rather publicly. These are relatively minor gripes given the cleanliness of the rooms and the swimming pool and the friendliness of the staff, but equally they are, these days basic comforts and easily remedied.
