Bula from Naveria,Not sure what happened to you, Jale, as my team waited all day for you to arrive or at least call. in the end you were a NO SHOW! With no attempt to call us we cannot know when you arrive. We are always available to send our four wheel drive taxi to the airport to assist in transport. However, this is left for the guest to attempt to contact the Lodge and provide us with their necessary arrival information! If this is your first time traveling, please take note, so it does not happen to you again! Vinaka

Amazing staff and property! Felt like home. Only a handful of rooms. Felt like we had our own private chef. Food is delicious and highly recommend ordering their meals. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Grounds are meticulously kept up. It's a steep driveway, but the views are incredible and worth it. Wish we could've stayed longer. Highly highly recommend.

Thank you Tammy for taking the time to write us a review. Its a pleasure to read that you enjoyed your stay at the Lodge. We are small and do try our best to make a true Fijian hospitable welcome. Your appreciation of our Naveria Team and enjoyment of the Lodge and our meals is lovely to read, Vinaka!

Very embellished The small pool and mountain balcony views are shared amongst all (not private). Walls are thin, air con/fans barely work. Everything in the room was old and delicate. You can't eat in your room. There is no menu for anything. You can't buy bottled water and the rainwater supplied is actually driven up in a truck. The truck is not safe enough for children to ride in. And is the only option for getting to and from the lodge (at $15 per way). That said the staff are wonderful and kind, it was very clean. The views lovely. The rooms need to be upgraded and privacy/security upgraded. A menu offered. An actual safe (not a lockbox). And gates to prevent other guests walking in front of your windows. Fine for a night or 2 but too expensive for what you get.

Dear Robert, Thank you for your review. Our Plunge pool is just that, too plunge! perfect just to cool down and enjoy the magnificent view. We are an eco Lodge and built in natural timbers from our gardens. Our water is pure gorgeous rain water, free for our guests to re use their bottles. Occasionally we will run out and we have to truck water up. The truck is a four wheel drive and perfectly safe up our dirt road! Our menu is determined by Sarita, head chef, and her amazing curries are outstanding! I'm glad you were able to appreciate our tremendous views!

Best things about the lodge are the staff and the views. Staff are super accomodating, very friendly and great people to know. They’ll go out of their way to make sure you have a great stay. The views are also incredible. Breakfast is light but filling - perfect for the hot weather. Swimming pool is small but nice for a dip. Only negative is that the only way up to the lodge is a series of steep hills. It’s pretty gravelly as well, so it’s difficult to walk. Even though there are stairs up to the lodge, it doesn’t go all the way to the street. It might be a good idea to hire a 4WD as taxis will not typically go up that driveway (it’s easy to drive around and was super convenient). The lodge does provide complementary transfer from the airport to the lodge, but you’ll need to figure the rest out yourself or pay for the service. Loads of mosquitoes in Savusavu so bring extra repellent! There’s a really nice swimming spot with coral and fish by Split Rock (6 mins drive from the lodge). 10 minutes walk from the lodge is the town with all the ammenities you need. The locals’ food is good and cheap - I recommend the pulao/palau that’s in the restaurant opposite Savusavu yacht club/next to Bargain Box. Copra Shed has a nice restaurant with vegetarian options (you’ll need to ask about it as it’s not on the menu) and a view. Overall, great place to stay and great introduction to Savusavu. There’s also a super friendly German Shepard dog on site for cuddles so 1 for that.

READ BEFORE BOOKING! this property is the equivalent of 21 flights of stairs up a steep gravel driveway. They say “free local transfers” but actually force you to pay $20 FJD each way to the main road. It is unsafe and very easy to fall on the steep driveway. As we were the only guests, only breakfast was an option, forcing us to go into town two a day (either hike or pay $20 each way). $80 a day for lunch and dinner, if you can’t do the hike. Not very relaxing. We asked for our subsequent nights to be refunded, the owner Sharon ignored our request. We asked for the free transfer to the main road (as advertised), which Sharon declined. Otherwise, the property is beautiful and the view is amazing. Staff member Jasmine was very friendly and an amazing chef. She did a great job at keeping us happy despite the fact that we wanted to get out of the place and stay somewhere with easy access. The driveway is steep and dangerous. If you want to hike up and down, be careful!!
Response from Sharon Wild on 19 Dec 2022
Bula Robbie,Sorry you did not enjoy your stay at the Lodge. Yes I wish you had read the reviews as you would clearly see the Lodge is located on a very steep hill and require walking 8 minutes down to the main road. Guests have a choice of walking down and getting a taxi up. Our guests usually don't mind the walking, some actually love it! But if you are not fit, you will need a taxi, which will cost roughly US8 (not unusual to pay to go out for dinner)As you discovered Jasmine is a great cook and we just require a little notice, to prepare a fabulous meal. I up graded you to enjoy having a private deck and relax in the peacefulness of our jungle. I know how amazing it is to have such a lovely healthy breakfast over looking the Savusavu Bay. Sorry you did not enjoy our slice of Heaven.

This review has nothing to do with Naveria Heights Lodge accommodation. This review score is about a man who hired a car and tried to drive it up my steep rough road and failed. My road is not for a Prius, its for a four wheel drive. This Gentleman thought he could drive his rental car up my very obvious steep hill and did not succeed in the first 10 meters. He blamed me, and demanded I should become his taxi. I extended all courtesy's to him and paid for his departure taxi, which I am not obligated to do, especially for just one night. He was rude and loud to me in front of my other guests and does not even explain why he gives such a poor review. Please contact me before thinking to drive a car up my hill! Its very obvious that it won't succeed.

The road to the Lodge needs work, but the owner is addressing the issue ASAP. Anyone must bear in mind that workers work on “Island Time” though, so one must have patience. The view is top notch, & Sharon, the owner, bends over backwards to help. Zeus, the Dog, is a lovely addition.

Clean room comfy bed. Nice views. Breakfast was nothing special and its such a rough go at getting up and down to this location..u will need to hire a 4x4 everytime you want to leave or come back to it. 15 fiji dollars each way...everytime you want to go and return. Steep & sometimes muddy hill to climb.

Awesome Views - Trek up to the lodge NOT AWESOME
BULA! First and foremost let me mention the view. It’s absolutely amazing. The bad is that the trek up to the lodge is brutal. The road is not paved, and it needs to be graded level. It’s steep and full of uneven spots so if you have a bad back I would not recommend it. I was tossed around like a rag in a dryer! Most of the taxis can’t get up to the lodge and even our rented 4x4 couldn’t do it. We had to pay the guy at the end of the long driveway $10 Fijian dollars each way to get us up and down to the lodge. However, without the steep incline you wouldn’t get the views. It was worth it to me. The staff is amazing and made our trip so enjoyable! The provided breakfast is plentiful, healthy and delicious. Someone left a review about the lizards and bugs in the house. Of course there’s small geckos and some tiny bugs. This is a tropical island! The geckos didn’t bother me nor were they a nuisance. I only saw a few Bugs during my 6 day stay. This is one of my favorite places to stay. If you have no physical limitations due to the drive up and down from the street, you’ll love this place.

Let me start with the property itself: it is absolutely amazing, it is very clean and the rooms are beautiful (although very noisy) and the views from here are absolutely STUNNING! Getting there however is a different story: the steep and uneven hill makes that the town is a bit of a challenge to get to. You need to have a good fitness or a 4x4 to hike up and down the hill. The owner is only interested in her Detox clients as this is something you can book on their own website and not so much in clients booking via Expedia. One tip: book the massage! The woman who does these is amazing!

Primitive - beyond rustic
Listing is absolutely fraudulent. Outside shower, no electric in bathroom yet they say there is a blow dryer. Must use a hand carried lantern in bathroom, cold water only shower is outdoors. There were lizards and other pests in the room. Driveway is so steep and rutted that taxis would not come to the property. Treacherous stairway down from the property to the street. I was injured because the steps were covered with moss and the handrail was rotted and crushed when I held on.

Great place for exercise
Beautifully constructed and maintained lodge. Incredible view of the harbor and bay. Steep, unpaved road for about 1/2 km to the lodge. Normal taxis will not take you there so you will have to arrange a 4 wheel drive taxi. If you are reasonably fit you can hike up from the paved road - we did it several times and we are in our 70’s - even hauled up our carry on luggage the first time because we couldn’t get a taxi to take us. Loved the place!

Great View - Great Staff
This place was great. The view was awesome and was woderful just to get up in the morning and watch the early morning happenings with coffee in hand. The staff was awesome from the morning greetings and the healthy breakfast....even the groundskeepers said hello and introduced themselves when i was walking up/down the hill (be advised there is a “healthy” hill to climb to the villa — will need 4x4 and good legs). Sharon was helpful in providing options for the days i was there even though i was primarily meeting my nephew late afternoon every day. I didn’t have a car but taxis are abundant — again they can’t come up the hill without 4x4. Great place if you’re looking for quiet / non resort type place to enjoy Savusavu.

Very nice views and Great Activities
The views from this hotel is amazing, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Also the owner arranges activities ranging from Snorkelling, River Tubing, Hiking, to stand up paddle boarding. This island has Tony Robbins Events on a regular basis, and it is recommended that you allow a few days after or before the event to explore this beautiful island, and the activities it has to offer. After all, I travelled from England, and the journey took nearly 40 hours there and back. Therefore, if you travel this distance, then you must make the time after the event to explore this island, and experience the beautiful tropical jungle, listen to the birds singing, swim the the nice warm sea and see the tropical fish, and finally experience the warm welcome of the Fijian People. In fact I have to say that the Fijian People are the most welcoming people in the world, and one day I hope to experience this wonderful place again.

Beautiful location overlooking Savu Savu. Excellent facilities with property owner and staff very friendly and helpful. Great breakfasts on balcony. Small, beautifully built homestay style property catering for those interested in fitness and wellbeing. Excellent rooms. Not suitable for children. Most difficult access from main road requiring 4 wheel drive vehicle, however, close to town, restaurants. This property highly recommended for those with an adventurous spirit. Sharon went the extra mile
Sharon, the pleasant owner of Naveria was kind enough to pick me up at the airport and drive me to her place. More like a home than hotel. Very cozy in the hills overlooking the bay. My baggage had been diverted to another flight due to weight and she picked it up for me at the airport later that evening. It magically appeared at my door that evening. She arranged for a driver to take me to town for dinner. The next morning, breakfast was very tasty but what really impressed me was the colors of the fruits. Astral might be the word, served by a sweet Fijian auntie. Comfortable bed and hot shower were appreciated after the long flight from the USA. Sharon drove me to the airport in the a.m. where I discovered I had misread my flight time and the flight had gone. I had paid a non refundable $1200 for a room on Taveuni for 4 days and the next flight was in 3 days. Sharon got on her cell phone immediately and arranged a driver to drive like mad to the other side of Vanua Levu to catch the "Fast Boat" (ha ha) to Taveuni. I drove through a very primitive road for 1.5 hrs. and made the boat with minutes to spare. Thanks Sharon. You really went above and beyond the call, from beginning to end.

Excellent views, not so great for a honeymoon..
After reading so many fantastic reviews, we were severly let down with our stay at Naveria Heights. When we got to the lodge, we were blown away with the views; then we were shown to our room. Unfortunately, we were expecting something a little more private than what we received. With paper thin walls to the adjoining room and a less than private deck, needless to say it is not the perfect honeymoon destination! We chose to stay at Naveria to partake in several of the activities offered, however we were only provided with one trip to a waterfall. I will compliment the tour 100%, it was a fantastic drive there and we had a nice walk to the waterfall and back to the car before stopping in at some hot mud springs, it was an incredible day! We also had an afternoon getting massages, also amazing! We were looking forward to more tours, but the owner left after a few nights of us being there so these became unavailable. On another note, the Fijians are all so hospitable, from staff around the streets to the staff at lodge, they were truly amazing! Unfortunately, this could not make up for the water turning off mid shower due to the FEA. This was the day we decided to turn our 7 night stay into a 5 night stay. On our last night the FEA were turning the power off constantly so the water the next morning was stone cold. Although this was not their fault, it did not help our stay. Needless to say, we were very glad to leave the now known b&b and head to Maui Palms on the Coral Coast.

Beautiful lodge and Bbreathtaking views
The hotel is just as described - up a hill in the jungle, with stunning views over the bay. It's a short walk to the main town's main road (small and not commercialised), with plenty of local restaurants to choose from. I had two massages whilst there too and both were amazing. The jungle trek to the waterfall was brilliant - along a small relatively unknown path, to a secluded spot that feels that only you know about. Sharon and her team were warm and friendly, and it felt like being at home. Go there!
