Great view. Double means singles

Posted 07-Feb-2017
The pros:Great view from the soaking tubs and interesting decor throughout the hotel. Breakfast is delish! The cons: Apparently a European double bed is 2 singles pushed together. Not ideal for a romantic getaway! Internet in the room didn't work. Apparently a router was broken. No concierge and no good knowledge about local tourist sites. Luckily I had lonely planet guide with me.

Amazing food

Posted 14-Jan-2017
Pros: The food was incredible
Location: We did a day trip around the Snaefellness Peninsula, starting and ending at the hotel. Then we drove to the Golden Circle upon check-out.
The food in the restaurant was simply amazing. The breakfast buffet was incredible, and the dinner was absolutely delicious. The best meals we had in Iceland. The shower water smelled of sulfur, but everything else about the hotel was great.

The best hotel we stayed at

Posted 30-Oct-2016
Cons: Stairs to bed, creaky iron stair rail and floor
Location: Tallest waterfall, which we missed :(
Nice staff, has coffee /tea spot always, hottub, robes, shower that does not flood the whole bathroom. Bed is upstairs in loft. Very large breakfast options included. Nicest lobby. Had 8 nights with 7 hotels and this was the best.

lovely unique hotel in great location for hiking and exploring away from the crowds. And breakfast and dinner were unsurpassed our entire trip. Amazing food. Kudos to the chef

Hotel Glymur

Posted 09-Oct-2016 on Hotels
Overall good, too far from the airport, about 2 hours and nothing around, no restaurants or shops. our only regret was we didn't see northern lights during out 3 days stay.

Bel hôtel bien placé avec vue magnifique

Posted 18-Sep-2016

Wonderfull overnight spot away from it all

Posted 12-Sep-2016
Pros: Room style and food
Cons: I know it is just the way of things in Iceland but this room had the smelliest water in the bathroom of all the places we stayed. Quite overpowering.
Really good use of the space to provide a split level room making it a small studio. Very pleasant indeed. The views from the room were outstanding and the bar and restaurant were top notch. The hot tub is perfectly situated to be sheltered and get the best view.

The room was oh so comfy! Loved the fact that it was 2 stories. Great breakfast buffet. Great view.
