Dont stay at the hotel
Hello I booked the room through hotels.com and the price included breakfast but at the hotel we were told price does not include breakfast and it is not their problem.but it id hotels.com problem. The most important thing no heat the first night and we were cold and had second night little heat.Evreything is so poorly organized this hotel. We arrived the hotel at 1pm. Noone was at the hotel. The door was locked.we have to find person by calling but we dont have local phone line and we have to pay extra phone bill too. During the trip we could not find anyone to take care of us.

Excellent in all respect. Free parking. Great breakfast. Comfortable. Friendly hosts. Very conveniently located, within walking distance to all the Old Town attractions.

Check in was a breeze and the people were lovely. The room was perfect for the 4 of us and had room for one more. Location was great and parking was easy.

Close to the old town
Nice comfortable hotel, although a little dated in its feel. Stayed on the top floor, which is like a small apartment rather than a standard hotel room (and hence no daily cleaning etc). It is at the top of a steep hill, but not worth getting a taxi whilst you're staying there if you can manage the two minute climb at the end of the day. Appear to only take cash - not unusual in Bosnia but needs factoring in.

Good stay. Was surprised and disappointed they would not take credit cards. Major inconvenience getting out this much cash.

Overnight Stay in Sarajevo
I arrived at night and quickly found the hotel. I parked my car and was immediately greeted by the hotel staff. They helped me with my luggage and checked me in. I immediately went to my room for the night. The wifi worked great in my bedroom. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. When I woke up, I enjoyed the breakfast buffet before walking into old town and doing some sightseeing before checking out and continuing on my road trip.

Hotel Herc was great, especially the staff. Room was modest, yet clean and comfortable. Plenty of warm water, etc. When I fell ill while there, staff was good enough to come to my aid with warm soup. Neighborhood was very well located, but be wary of the very steep hill one climbs to get to it.

Friendly and clean
Was only there for a night, but the staff were very friendly and helpful providing directions around the city. Would stay again. As others mentioned, there is a bit of a steep hill between the old city and the hotel.

Nice little hotel on a hill.
The hotel was small but had interesting rooms. Ours was under the roof. Good view of Sarajevo. Staff was very helpful. Good breakfast. Parking was difficult on sloping ground with surface of mostly smooth rocks. Road access to hotel is by a devious route thru tite places and hairpin turn. On foot it is a strate but challenging uphill walk, followed by stair climbing (4 stories and no elevator). That was too daunting for my 76 year old wife, so we took a taxi which was a good option because Sarajevo fares are the lowest in Europe.

Major problems
Internet is nonexistent on the 3rd and 4th floor. Not enough toilet paper or towels provided. Breakfast food not kept cold; could present a significant health hazard if you decide to eat it anyway. Light sensor does not work on the second floor, so you (or your kids) could trip on the stairs and seriously injure yourself. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Major problems
I had food poisoning during my stay and instead of asking me if I needed anything (bottled water, an extra towel, extra toilet paper, etc), the staff kept knocking on my door and then rang my phone (both after midnight) to tell me to turn the bathroom faucet off when I was too sick to get off the floor. I recommend avoiding the meat at the breakfast as I do not believe it is refrigerated properly, and the same meat offered day after day (I saw the morning‘s breakfast sausages still sitting on the counter at 12:30 pm). My conclusion is that saving money, including saving on the water bill, is more important to them than food safety or guest wellness.

Small friendly hotel located at the top of a steep hill but worth the walk up. Clean rooms recently refurbished but still retaining a traditional charm. Only let down by the breakfast which was uninspiring with limited choice. Wifi only available in the public areas.

It is very close to the sights, but you have to climb a very steep hill to reach the hotel. The room and bathroom were not very clean. There were even lipstick marks on the glasses in the room. They do not provide any of the services listed on the site, they do not help. To sum up, it was a stay that doesn't suit that beautiful city.

Nice hotel close to old city.
Everything was ok exapt that our extrabed was not there when we came. But the stuff was really kind. The cleaning could have been more often and we missed some facitilities in The kitchen.

Uitdstekend hotel op gunstige locatie!
Hotel Herc is een prima, kleinschalig hotel op een gunstige locatie ten opzichte van het oude centrum, de Baščaršija (oude bazaar 's en het historische en culturele centrum van de stad), de Ferhadija (winkelstraat) en verschillende bezienswaardigheden. De hotelmedewerkers zijn uiterst vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De ruime kamers zijn keurig en sfeervol. Het ontbijt was prima. Geen buffet, maar verschillende ontbijtproducten op tafel uitgestald (op verzoek kan het ontbijt worden aangepast/uitgebreid).

Charmantes Hotel in Sarajevo
Das Hotel Herc ist ein kleines , aber sehr charmantes , Hotel in der unmittelbaren Nähe zur Altstadt Sarajevos. Trotz der guten Lage ist es am und im Hotel sehr ruhig. Zudem ist das Personal überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich würde bei meinem nächsten Aufenthalt wieder dort übernachten , denn das Preisleistungsverhältnis ist sehr gut .
