We were advised to quickly book a hotel close to the airport. When we arrived at the hotel, it was before our check-in time, so we were asked to wait until 2pm. About 30 minutes later I got a call and was told to head back to the airport immediately as British Airways was now able to take passengers on the plane. I approached reception staff and explained the situation and told them that I would no longer need the room as I had to return to the airport straight away. Unfortunately, the hotel refused to accept my cancellation and still charged me for the room, even though we never checked in or used it.
