We stayed at the Puri Santrian for 5 days. Excellent facilities, a beautiful private beach (it is curious the game tide has) very good restaurants, 4 beautiful pools, but what is better than anything previously mentioned, is the attention of all staff, doing everything possible your stay truly enjoyable. Beginning our stay, we were greeted with a delicious welcome cocktail, we got room upgrade, something wonderful, fruit basket in the room, all really wonderful. We had a small health problem and immediately supported us calling a doctor who went to visit the room in less than 15 minutes. Better service, impossible. We recommend openly, and Puri Santrian will be the hotel we will visit in Bali when we return. Great Hotel, hope it stays that way.

First time in Bali and really liked Sanur and this hotel is situated right in the heart. Not too far drive to Ubud also. Very impressed with the service, 5 star customer service. Lots of great restaurants near by. Awesome pool too. Great selection of food for breakfast buffet, but did find the food not too warm in the morning, but not a big deal.
Also right next door to supermarket Hardys. Will definitely stay there again. Plus I like that it wasn't a party town, felt safe at night.
Very quiet behind the entrance, although restaurants, bars, shops and the general bustle start literally over the road. Room (deluxe garden suite) is spacious and clean, with very high ceilings. Air-conditioning temperature for each room is controlled centrally - asked for mine to be reduced. Sliding doors lead to bathroom and wardrobe area. Toilet and shower are semi-al fresco which is fine except that this allows ingress for mosquitoes, so had to remember to keep the glass door from bathroom closed. Guest Services happy to provide insect spray, also part of the turndown service each evening is to light a mosquito coil in both pebble/plant area outside the shower and outside sliding doors to the garden.
Breakfast is served at the restaurant which overlooks a T-junction at the front of the hotel and is very good. I ordered various courses and coffee separately after first day to prevent everything arriving at once and getting cold. Put a serviette over the toast to keep flies off. Food eaten at restaurant and via room service was good; hotel prices apply of course and these are half as much again or more than what is charged at establishments nearby.
The hotel has its own section of the beach about 10 minutes walk away. Sun loungers are a long way back from the water. The day that I did spend a couple of hours there, no attendant was present for most of time.
The staff at Sudamala, unfailingly friendly and helpful, are probably the best I've encountered in Bali.
This was the last leg of my vacation in Asia intended to help wind down and relax before heading home. It was the best value (compared to Myanmar & Singapore) at $220 for round trip air and 3 nights at hotel.
Although the service was mixed (some people at the reception were unhelpful), I must give a shout out to the concierge Kojek who went out of his way to make our stay a better experience. He was very knowledgeable and really listened when we asked for safe local alternatives to eat rather than the tourist traps. We never felt the pressure to book or do things through the hotel. We looked for him to say goodbye on our last day but he was off. To our pleasant surprise, he had taken the time to write a note to say goodbye to us!
The amenities were fine although the design of the rooms could use a bathroom door. I was traveling with a friend and it would have been nicer if we didn't have to hear each other's business. Also we had trouble with the shower leaking all over the bathroom floor. Again, service was great and very responsive. They cleaned up right away. The next day they tried to put a rubber lip under the door to keep the water from going out but it didn't work. When they saw us in the hallway and asked how it worked, we told them and they went back to clean up and put more towels down without us asking.
The pool was definitely a shining point....very large with plenty of chairs. Unfortunately they close 7pm nightly to clean, which it was very well maintained.
Rooms are not overly large, but quite comfortable. Stunning bathroom with glass wall to bedroom (electric privacy blind). Lounge bed on balcony really cozy. Beware that the 'lagoon' view is a view of a fence straight out and looking down on the private plunge pool for the first floor rooms (lagoon access). Questionable value to the views. Excellent breakfast. Wonderful spa, albeit pricey by Balinese standards. Room service pretty good. Small pool for the size of the hotel. Beach not worth the effort, although I only saw it at low tide.
Sanur is extremely busy and touristy - other parts of Bali are much more serene and considerably more economical.
Loved all the facilities and the location but the rooms we were in (group of 8) were very outdated. The air conditioning hardly worked so very hot to sleep. Requested it to be looked at but to no avail. Bar fridge didn't work but had that replaced after three requests. A shame because the location and facilities and staff were all excellent.

The leisurely pace of Sanur makes it a popular choice for families and those after a taste of the quiet life. A broad range of accommodation is represented along the coastline, which curves gently around a lagoon protected by a spectacular coral reef. The sheltered nature of the beach makes it ideal for swimming and a host of water sports. Regular public transport runs to and from Denpasar well into the night.
