On the Canal – 368 Canal St - Seagrove Beach, FL Our home comes with up to $280 worth of Beach Gear Credit! Overview: Experience the charm and nature of Old Seagrove in this quaint 3 bedroom, 2 bath cottage that overlooks the canal. Paddle your troubles away to Western Lake in one of the provided kayaks! A ten minute stroll will take you into Seaside where you can enjoy award-winning restaurants, unique shops and the ambiance of a quaint coastal village. Close enough to walk or bike to everything…beach, galleries, fine cuisine, bike trails, markets, live theater, a family run book store, outdoor bazaars, and coffee shops! Natural landscaping leads right up to the canal dock. Owner provides kayaks for your pleasure. On the Canal is on a quiet dead end street and offers the ultimate in privacy. First Floor: The main entrance into On the Canal is a foyer in which you will find the laundry room with full capacity washer and dryer. Up a half flight of stairs and then back down a half flight is the first floor den, bath and queen bedroom. New wood flooring on this level. The den offers a double sleeper sofa, 3 side chairs, side board, mini fridge and wifi-enabled SmarTV. French doors open off this room to a covered porch with Adirondack seating. From this porch, you can view the peaceful canal. The queen bedroom has pocket doors to close it off from the den area and is outfitted with bedside tables and lamps and a large closet with built-in drawers. The first floor bath is off the den area and has a vanity sink and shower. Second Floor Common Areas: Up on the second floor, you will find the open kitchen, dining and living room all of which look out over the canal. Vaulted ceilings grace all rooms. Kitchen / dining area is tiled and living room / bedrooms have wood flooring. Quartz countertops and ample cabinetry accent the kitchen. There are stainless appliances, including fridge with icemaker/door water dispenser, dishwasher, microwave and glass-top range. Breakfast bar wraps around and has the sink centered on it, allowing the chef to keep up with the folks in the living area. The dining area is adjacent to the kitchen and features a dining table that seats six. There is a convenient grilling deck off the dining area with a charcoal grill. Living room has sofa, 4 side chairs, large coffee table, LED SmarTV with sound bar. NOTE: this home has streaming services only, no cable TV is provided unless you have an account with one of the services that provides network television stations. French doors lead from the living room to the screened porch which overlooks the canal. Outfitted with multiple chairs and an outdoor dining table and chairs, this porch is the perfect escape for the family. (Fireplace is decorative only.) Second Floor Bedrooms / Bathroom: The master bedroom with queen bed, dresser with mirror, ceiling fan, nightstand with lamp, large closet, wifi enabled SmarTV and a reading chair. Private outdoor balcony overlooks front of house and has two chairs. Large hall bath serves entire second floor and has a garden tub / shower and a double vanity sink. The third bedroom is a Queen and has a bedside table with lamp, dresser, side chairs and a closet. Outside: Canal front dock. Five kayaks and a canoe are available for your use in the waterway. We provide paddles and an assortment of adult life jackets. Charcoal grill. Hot / cold outdoor shower. Parking for up to 4 cars in gravel driveway. Beach Access: The beach is about a 10 minute walk down lovely oak canopied dirt roads of Old Seagrove via the Dogwood / Thyme Beach Access. Seaside is just around the corner. The Nightcap Beach access is also just as close and offers a shaded trail to the beach. Seagrove Beach is all public beach so there is plenty of room to spread out. Included Amenities: 8 beach towels, cooler, 4 back pack style beach chairs. Beach Gear Program: We provide $40 / day of beach gear credit that you can use towards bikes, umbrellas, kayaks, paddleboards and more! (Minimum stay 3 nights and maximum credit of $280.) We have a $100 cancellation fee for any cancellation outside 90 days. Inside 90 days, there is no cancellation unless we can re-rent the property. The house and beds were comfy, it was very well-stocked, and clean. We enjoyed the porches, backyard, and the layout/separation between the floors. The walk to the beach and Seaside is easy, though a little long when pulling a toddler in a wagon. This was our second year in a row staying at On the Canal, and we loved it again. The property looks just like the photos, and everything is clean. It's well-stocked with everything we need. We used the included Beach Rental to get bikes so we could ride over to Seaside every day. While the beach is a little bit of a walk, we feel it's worth it to stay at such a nice home. The property was very clean and accurate to the pictures online. We really enjoyed the screened in porch overlooking the canal, which had a beautiful view and was shaded. While the walk to the beach was a bit longer than we were expecting, the bikes provided through the rental were fantastic. We biked to Seaside every day, as well as on the nature trails in Watercolor. We were very happy with our stay and recommend the property, especially for families with teens, as ours loved the separate downstairs area. Thanks for a great stay! ##### A D. It was near our friends but super affordable! We stayed in the master bedroom, my mother stayed in the second upstairs room. My daughter and a few of her friends stayed downstairs and they loved it. We rode the canoe on the canal, biked to the beach, square, Grayton Beach, and biked to The Red Bar. We cooked breakfast every morning and grilled hamburgers and hotdogs, baked sliders for lunch. We really loved staying at this property. The canal view was so relaxing, as was spending time on the porches in the mornings and evenings. Us parents took the lower floor "apartment", and the kids each had their own rooms upstairs, so that was nice. We were even able to kayak a bit on the canal, despite the water lilies. We took advantage of the beach gear credit to get four bicycles, and some baskets, so were able to bike everywhere we needed to go. It was a short and shady jaunt, either on bikes or by foot, to the beach. The house was lovely, clean, well kept up, and comfortable. It was impressively well stocked, with everything you might need for the week, from laundry detergent, salt and pepper and other spices, olive oil, toilet paper, to baggies and foil, and more. As the Mom-who-does-all-the-vacation-planning-and-packing, I just can't get over how much was available in the house and the attention to detail. We really didn't need to bring anything other than our clothes and other personal stuff, and get some groceries for the week. My family just enjoyed staying there and all the beach stuff! ##### Yvonne M. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. House is in a GREAT location, walkable to downtown Seaside or a super easy bike ride. Close to the beach too.
