The neighborhood seems up and coming. There are great cafes/lunch spots in walking distance. We happened to be there in an unusual heatwave. The house retained the cool of the night well, and ceiling fans in the bedrooms helped. The kitchen was very nice, but could use a little more sheet pans and the like and a few basics (spices, olive oil). The washer and dryer were super convenient. The front yard is a garden oasis! It was nice just to open the windows at night and let the cool air in. Screen doors. Great wifi. The tune up cafe is just around the corner, open all day. An easy 15 minute walk to railyard if you don't want to drive and mess with parking. My wife and I and two kids, and two dogs, plenty of space. We had a wonderful time! I really like it. Great location - about 5 minutes to the Railyard area and Whole Foods, less than 10 minutes to the Plaza, and less than 15 minutes to the Opera. The Tune-Up Cafe is a nice neighborhood joint, and it is a quick walk from the house. We spend most of our time in the front garden and eat most meals there. The kitchen is well-stocked with cookware and dishes (Hurrah! Most places don't have enough), the beds are comfortable, and there are well-placed skylights that bring light into the middle of the house. The bedrooms are good-sized, but the common rooms are small. Nice art on the walls. On the other hand, you should also know that there is no central air conditioning (we've stayed in July and August and been ok with the fans) and the neighborhood is a bit transitional (but I feel safe staying here alone). ##### Kathleen B.
