Most of the hotel staff were welcoming and the downstairs and outdoor area gave a good first impression. However when entering our standard room it was clear that it had not been updated for decades. The room was tidy and clean and had a lovely view of the pool, but it was very basic and dated. The air-conditioning remote was broken and we could not change the temperature. We told the hotel staff and somebody came to have a look at it. They changed the batteries and it worked for 20 minutes and then stopped again. It was clear that the fault was not a battery issue.
The breakfast buffet was very nice with a variety of food and drink on offer. Fresh fruit and custom made pancakes were a highlight. When we asked for the use of the safe and wifi we were told it was an extra cost, along with tea and coffee facilities. These are amenities that we feel any hotel should provide, especially when charging £200 a night for your stay.
After the first night of our stay I woke up with a terrible back. I looked at the mattress and it was extremely old and non supportive. I told a member of staff and later that day the mattress was changed. However when it came to the second night, I had an equally bad nights sleep. I could feel every spring in the mattress as I moved around trying to sleep.
Overall our stay was disappointing. Luckily the hotel is in a great location and with the hire of a scooter we were able to explore so much of the beautiful island and still have a lovely holiday
Pros: The breakfast and pool area.
Cons: The decor and facilities. It needs and update.
Location: Great location a minutes walk from the beach. Scooter hire nearby and boat tips available form the marina. There is also a variety of restaurants.
