Our room lacked simple things, a desk for instance

Posted 21-Apr-2016
Pros: The setting, which allowed views of the ocan.
Cons: Better hotel room decorating!
Location: All of Santa Cruz is nearby, and that is overall very lovely.
It was overall okay, but did not live up to our expectations. Our room did not have a desk for example, which is needed when one is on a business trip. The bathroom was very small and crowded. The hotel room was spacious, but lacked things of comfort overall. I needed to do a "late check-out." The fee for that would have been $100! NOT that the hotel was completely booked on a Wednesday afternoon! Parts of the experience was good, but generally speaking, the experience was disappointing.

Paper thin walls

Posted 18-Apr-2016
Cons: The noise isolation between rooms needs a lot of improvement.
We ended up leaving because our romantic getaway was ruined by overhearing conversations from the next room. They weren't even being loud, just discussing where they wanted to go for dinner. As far as we could tell, all the rooms were like this. We wanted some privacy, so we ended up leaving and finding a different place to stay.

Way beyond expectations

Posted 04-Apr-2016
My family and I planned a trip to Santa Cruz last second and needed a hotel room, so we saw this online and booked it without much thought other than it having a restaurant for us to have breakfast in the morning and we were surprised by how luxurious our stay was. The rooms were very nice, the staff was great, and the brunch was amazing!

Wonderful!!! close to the mountains and beach.

Posted 02-Apr-2016
Pros: That its close to beach and forest:)
Cons: The only inconvenience I had was the shampoo and the body wash bottles were empty.
Celebrating my daughters 21st birthday. We had a wonderful time, but too short of a stay.

Beautiful setting. Peaceful and great amenities.

Posted 18-Mar-2016
Pros: Location, peacefulness, staff, and the availability of spa services on site.
Cons: Dividers for privacy in patio area. More selections on menu for both in-room dining and in restaurant.
Location: Beautiful location overlooking Santa Cruz and ocean. Enjoyed shopping in downtown Santa Cruz, walking on beach and watching surfers at Pleasant Point.
After the staff heard I had injured my foot while shopping in Santa Cruz, they sent a bottle of wine to my room with a sweet note of condolence. So thoughtful and kind and something you don't experience often.

The newly remodeled rooms

Posted 24-Feb-2016
Over valentines weekend we were given a recently remodeled room. The low flow toilet plugged several times as well as the lights in the bathroom stopped working. We also had a group of children above is that were very noisy until after 10 pm and up early the following morning. If we didn't have the issues above, the room was quite nice.

Very relaxing weekend

Posted 18-Feb-2016
We were impressed by several things: very friendly and helpful staff; good food; the huge property with hiking trails; quiet, well furnished rooms. It was a great weekend!

Beautiful Location

We used to go to the Inn for Sunday Brunch a few years ago. During our stay, the Brunch and food wasn't up to a 4 Star Hotel. You could tell they were trying to save money and cut corners.

Excellent food, service, great room, nice view

Posted 15-Feb-2016
Pros: When I travel I need a solid night's sleep. Staying in building 900 gave me an excellent sleep. And, only 5 minutes from Soquel's restaurants.
Cons: The tennis court fence was severely damaged. And, as an early riser I would like to be able to exercise in the gym before 7 am. Better trail signs.
Location: In Santa Cruz there is swimming, surfing, bicycling, hiking, boating and more.
My stay at Chaminade was very enjoyable. The staff were excellent. I especially liked the omelette chef service on the breakfast buffet, along with the ocean view. Sitting on the veranda by the upscale campfire circle (gas - no wood smoke) in the evening was a treat. I took the opportunity to hike on two the three redwoods trails in the mornings. The blue trail (1.75 miles) was worth the effort.
