One of the most popular homes in our offering, the home is warmly decorated and includes extras such as hot tub, pack n play crib, boogie board and umbrella, kids toys and hot tub. Wi-Fi and washer/dryer included. One King, one Queen and a twin floor bed and pack n' play crib available. Beds are clothed with fine linens, comforters and pillows. Dining room seats four-five comfortably with kitchen bar seating for two. Chair mounted high chair available. Living room has flat screen TV, DVD player and movie library. It was a close drive to everything, beaches, shopping, Mission, Zoo, but was far enough away to be in a nice, quiet neighborhood to get away from it all. The check in / check out process is easy. It has a nice lay out and would be great for a family. Lots of stuff stocked in the kitchen to make meals - although like most vacation rentals (we travel and rent quite a bit) you have to hunt for stuff as things are sort of thrown into drawers in a big mish mash, but not a deal breaker - it was easy to find what was needed. If you want to walk to State Street this isn't really the spot for you - but it's a quick car ride away and just down the hill is anything you could need as far as supplies go. The house was very clean and it was lovely to sit with the French doors open and watch the blue jays and woodpeckers and the mountains of SB. The only drawback for us was the state of the lawn in the yard all around the property. Look, I'm a native California, I get that grass is a no go with the drought, but dead brown grass and dirt is just so bad aesthetically. We didn't use the hot tub, or the outdoor table, or the ping pong because it was just super uninviting out there which is a pity because it really should be a huge part of the rental experience. Digging up the dead grass and putting down fake grass, ground cover, DG or even pea gravel would be better than looking at that. Not to mention the toll it takes on the carpets if you have people tracking dust and dirt in and out. Anyway, that would probably be the only reason to say we didn't love the house 100%, other than that it's nice place and the owners were very nice to deal with. ##### erinn E. Dishes, utensils, and pots/pans that were put away were not thoroughly cleaned so we had to wash them again before using. We were hoping to eat dinner outside in the backyard but the patio seating was covered with cobwebs. Nobody did maintenance on the oven to ensure that everything was working and despite us following the check-out instructions, we found that they didn't have some of the things required for us to not be charged a fee, i.e. laundry detergent for towels. The two other numbers provided (not Lynn's) were unresponsive when I had questions before and during my stay. I didn't get a responses regarding my texts until the morning before we checked out. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was fully outfitted with everything we needed to cook at the house. The property was the best part, we made good use of the fire pit and the hot tub. We absolutely loved our stay at Alta Mesa! Online pictures don’t do the views justice! You get views of the mountains on one side & ocean on the other. House was extremely clean & well maintained. Short drive to the dog paradise of Hendry's Beach. Hot tub was a delight after chasing the dogs on the beach. Beds were big and cozy with lovely linens! Perfect for a small family or two couples. Close enough to harbor for Brophy Bros. to deliver clam chowder and warm bread. Just got home and missing it already! ##### Erin P. This place was perfect for our getaway. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has all the basic necessities. The bathroom was large and there was a small on-suite half-bath in the master bedroom. There wasn't any toiletries available so be sure to pack some or go to the nearby store to pick some up! We’d loved to have stayed longer - I want to move to Santa Barbara! The house was in a great location; walking distance to the village and a short drive to all the sights.
