Hendry's Beach House - An Elegant Family Friendly Private Escape  
  
Unparalleled privacy defines this charming 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom upscale beach cottage.  
  
The home sits at the end of Alan Road bordering the Arroyo Burro Open Space (a 15-acre nature preserve), while Hendry’s Beach and the acclaimed Boathouse Restaurant are only a short 10-minute walk through a quiet, flat neighborhood with sidewalks.  
  
The home is comfortably and thoughtfully furnished, and boasts distinctive amenities such as instant hot water showers (indoor and outdoor), a custom mosaic waterfall spa, an exceptional outdoor fire pit lounge nestled under a covered cedar beam pergola, a built-in 42” Lynx BBQ and bar counter, as well as plenty of beach toys and equipment.  
  
The home features two en suite master bedrooms, each with a king-sized bed. The primary master bathroom is luxurious, featuring an oversized shower, two sinks and finished with white Italian marble throughout. The secondary master bathroom features a glass-enclosed shower with a rain can shower head and a beautiful limestone countertop.  
  
The third bedroom is outfitted with two twin-sized beds and a pop-up twin trundle (which can be converted to a king-sized bed when connected to the daybed) . When all three beds are used, the room is crowded but cozy. The third bathroom (adjacent but unconnected to the third bedroom) features an oversized jetted tub surrounded by elegant marble walls, floors, and countertop. The shower/tub combo contains both a traditional shower head and a mounted hand-held sprayer.  
  
The kitchen was designed with the professional chef in mind, built around a 36” free-standing Wolf range and an exceptional, hand-made walnut butcher block island. Additional features such as a classic ceramic farmhouse sink and Miele dishwasher add to the kitchen’s charm and functionality, while stainless and cast iron cookware, utensils, and speciality items appeal to those serious about the art of cooking.  
  
The heart of the home is found in the combination dining/living room area, a “great room” of sorts, which invites guests to settle in and relax, watch TV, engage in conversation, eat, drink, and entertain indoors and out. The handcrafted indoor extension table comfortably seats up to 10, while an outdoor teak dining table (through French doors off the back wall) can seat an additional 6\. A genuine leather couch and 100% wool rug define the room’s quality furnishings, with thoughtful extras such as blankets, pillows, and side tables providing guests with added convenience and comfort. The hand-hewn Santa Barbara sandstone gas fireplace has been outfitted with ceramic fireplace logs for ease of use and maintenance.  
  
When it comes to exploring Santa Barbara and the surrounding areas, convenience is key and Hendry’s Beach House delivers. Downtown Santa Barbara is a mere 7 minute off-freeway drive, a bus stop at the end of Alan Road is a short 8-minute walk from the house, and bike trail access is steps from the front door through the Arroyo Burro Open Space. The Douglas Family Preserve and Elings Park are also within easy walking distance, and those who enjoy a more strenuous uphill walk will be rewarded with coffee shops, restaurants and gourmet food markets at the top of Cliff Drive on the Mesa. Santa Barbara City College, the Santa Barbara Harbor and Waterfront, and Stearns Wharf are also close by.

Santa Barbara is a smoke-free city, and smoking/vaping is prohibited everywhere on the property (inside and outside).  
  
Access to the garage and shed storage area is off-limits to all guests.  
  
Food, wood, and other flammable material is prohibited in both the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit. The fire pit is hard-lined and may not be moved without owner permission/assistance.  
  
Ocean equipment is provided only to guests who submit liability waivers for all members of their party prior to their stay. Equipment is for guest use only.

Absolutely beautiful and clean space. The outdoor areas are exceptional for taking in the tranquil scenery either on a walk along the hidden arroyo or relaxing in the stone grotto. There is a wonderful array of native and tropical plants to entice the hummingbirds into the yard. The neighborhood is peaceful and walking distance to Hendry’s beach (BEST dog watching)! The kitchen is stocked with quality kitchen wares any chef would be excited to find. All bedrooms had cozy bedding for a good nights rest. All in all my sisters and I had a relaxing stay and highly recommend this to any family needing an easy landing.Jeff and Kara are very kind and responsive to any and all concerns.

Great little place about .5 mile to the beach. House was very clean and comfortable. Nice sheets and towels! The house cam with all the beach toys and chairs and boards you would need for a fun day at the beach. Overall, great place to stay for sure in Santa Barbara!
