The staff at the Hotel Alexander were wonderful. We were there over Easter and the family run place was alight with Holiday goodies! It generated such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I would recommend a stay here, as it doesn't disappoint.

Great hotel inside the city walls
We stayed 3 nights. Excellent hotel inside the city walls. The reception and check in went very smoothly. We had a rental car and the parking garage worked out fine. The front desk and breakfast staff were most helpful. Live is a beautiful city, very walkable. We would definitely return and stay here again. Thank you for making our stay so pleasing!

This is a beautiful boutique style hotel with charm that resonates with old world luxury. The staff exude that same old world genuineness as they work to make sure every question is answered and all your needs are attended to. Our room was on the small side with no terrace but the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast each morning in the salon was a treat! Full service with beautiful table settings and attentive staff, delicious food and coffee! We would absolutely recommend a stay here!

I have been to this magnificent hotel before and the service is so friendly. One of the highlights was the magnificent breakfast; never rushed and always fresh as fresh can be. Paulo went out of his way to set up taxi and restaurant bookings and Mario, as always, was a lovely host...a gentleman with a lovely way with the customers.

The staff are very warm and courteous and truly make you feel welcome. We were met at the front door of the hotel and our luggage was brought to our room. We were also allowed to check into our room early which was very much appreciated. The room is lovely and elegantly furnished too,

A hidden gem of a hotel
Beautiful hotel off the beaten track. The staff were wonderful, really friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms are absolutely fabulous - you feel like you are staying in an old Italian villa. Would absolutely stay again!

This was a quaint hotel a little off the beaten path, but inside the Lucca city walls. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They served breakfast in the room downstairs which was plentiful and delicious. I would definitely recommend them for your stay in Lucca.

This property is a cute family, own bed and breakfast with well adorned rooms, friendly and helpful, family owners, and a lovely brunch in the morning. Anywhere in Lucca is good, but this is a Jim within the city walls.

The hotel is simply delightful. The staff are amazing: they really go the extra mile to be helpful. It’s in a very quiet area and the hotel itself is very peaceful with no loud oikish types in sight. Classical music is played very quietly in reception and at breakfast. The latter, served by the excellent Roberto, is personally served and tailored to one’s exact preferences. Rooms are furnished in the traditional Italian palazzo style and are spotless. Mario, the owner, gladly books evening meals in recommended restaurants; his judgment is faultless. Reception staff (Paolo) are unfailingly pleasant & helpful.

Beautiful hotel, great service
Palazzo Alexander is a wonderful small hotel. Beautifully decorated in an elegant, classic style. Our room had beautiful inlaid wood furniture. The bathroom was spacious with a very good shower. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and included made to order eggs with bacon. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located near key sights. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is a true gem. The entire staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. A wonderful breakfast is served each day. Our room was very comfortable and well-appointed. All of Lucca is accessible by foot. This is a great hotel in a lovely city. We can’t wait to return.

Beautiful, centrally situated hotel with bundles of charm and character and exceptionally friendly and very helpful staff. The interior decor of the hotel could itself be a tourist attraction such is its ornate beauty and traditional features, so typical of the region. We had the junior suite "Tosca" which was lovely in its design, furnishings and lovely balcony overlooking the rooftops of Lucca. This hotel is highly recommended.

Perfection in Lucca
Upon arrival Gabriel paid complete attention to getting our car parked and helping putting our luggage in our room. His dad was equally friendly the next day, and Roberto was jovial and engaging as well as very helpful. Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. Recommendations for restaurants, bicycle rentals, and general sightseeing were spot on. A joy!

We loved staying at this hotel. Mario and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful in every way. The full breakfast was delicious and the cappuccinos were very good! It is quiet and very clean. Great location on a quiet side street. We will stay here again on our next trip back to Lucca!

Palazzo Alexander is a great place to both stay and base yourself for a Tuscan holiday. The staff was outstanding, helpful and friendly. Great location within the walled city and an easy walk to everything. Room was large and clean, hard to imagine the building is a few hundred years old...great breakfast was a nice bonus. I'd stay here again.

Nicest hotel ever!
I can't say enough good things about the Palazzo Alexander hotel and its hard-working owner, Mario! The entire staff is so friendly every time you walk through the door or come downstairs to ask a question. They made us (and especially my two-year-old daughter) feel more welcome than we have ever felt at any hotel. Mario would take the time to talk with us at breakfast and make sure we were well taken care of and knew how to best spend our time in and around Lucca. The location too is fantastic. On a quiet street, but just two blocks from so many restaurants and the beautiful meeting place that is the Piazza San Michele in Foro. Also, a very easy walk to a cheap all-day parking lot right outside the walls (the hotel offered parking, but I was afraid of the cameras enforcing the limited traffic zone so I played it safe and left the car outside). The room was beautiful and spacious, and even in 100F/37C weather, the air conditioning held up and kept it comfortable. Stay at the Palazzo Alexander Hotel and you'll have a wonderful home base in Lucca!
