"We loved our stay at the Sweet Retreat! The house was clean and cozy. It was perfect for our family of 4. The location is very family friendly. We loved the amenities of the Beachwalk property- from the pool, to the fishing pond, kayaks, and direct access to the beach we did it all! We would happily return. This vacation ranks in the top 5 for our family for sure!"

"The house was all you could ask. Well suppled kitchen and comfortable furniture.. We loved the front porch and backyard area. We had 14 people and the house accommodated us well. Communicate with Tricia was very good.The Beachwalk amenities were wonderful.We were close to the restaurants and The Dunes. Nice to have the overflow parking near and enjoyed the golf cart. Hoping to come back some day."

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at this guest house! Located within a beautiful resort-style community, it offered all the comforts of home and was exceptionally clean and well-maintained.One of our favorite aspects was the location. It was just a short walk to the pool, sports courts, waterfront, fishing areas, watercraft rentals, and dining options. The property also served as an excellent home base for exploring the area. We easily visited Indiana Dunes State Park and National Park, the beach, and Washington Park Zoo. Deep River Waterpark and Zao Island were both less than an hour away.As an added bonus, the community was welcoming. The neighbors were thoughtful, the property staff was helpful, and the community was hopping with families on vacation. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with convenient access to local attractions."

"Location is great. But maintenance is badly needed. There are some real safety hazards unfortunately. The tv in the main living room is mounted in probably the most unsafe way I’ve ever seen. (Screws *through* the small plastic feet that come with tv is what is preventing it from crashing onto someone’s head. God forbid a small child. The metal grills in the gas oven don’t fit that appliance, so if you place food on it, it will fall into the oven. Please make sure there’s no oil in whatever pot/pan you’re using. We’d planned/hoped to do most of our cooking outside. But we couldn’t. The outdoor grill is gas/propane and I assume you’d have to bring/buy your own tank because the one that was there when we stayed was rusted and empty. Why there isn’t a simple charcoal grill back there is one of the dozen mysteries we pondered throughout our stay. Some of the tables, including the main dining table are unstable, using improper screws and not the right amount of screws. Look, we didn’t expect a luxury stay. It was a last minute Memorial Day Weekend booking because of a family issue that required us to stay closer to home. But the lack of care goes a bit too far when you’re concerned about the safety of the kids in the house. The property itself has a ton of potential. A ton. But in its current state, it’s not a good option for families with kids."

"The Pink House has everything! Our family had 16 people and we all felt this house was perfect. The kids playroom downstairs was very popular with our 3 littles. The kitchen/living room was large and we could all be together without being on top of each other. The screened front porch was used all day long. We enjoyed the pool area, the beach, golf cart rides, and walking the neighborhood. The kitchen was so well equipped, it amazed us all. Everything thing we needed and more. Having beach towels and chairs available was a big plus. We will be returning!"

"We had a multigenerational family get together at East of the Sun. Overall it was a wonderful stay. Host(s) had prompt communication and the golf cart is a certain bonus! It was a tight fit for 13 (9 adults) as far as bedrooms BUT we knew it would be. Always look at pictures (they were accurate). They have several fans for use which came in handy. They do not have any air mattresses (so bring your own if needed). Showers worked well. I agree with other reviews the mattresses were very comfortable for most guests. Again though, this is not the Ritz Carlton and this property overall is priced well considering the space it does have. All of the children loved the basement with the microphones/karaoke stage. Shared firepit between three houses, but we had no issues with that. Overall great price for what is provided!"
