I traveled around Italy for 2 weeks and my last 2 days all I wanted to do was relax! This was the perfect hotel for that at a reasonable price. The room is very spacious and there was an actual tub(most of my hotels my shower was only capable of fitting my body and a sponge)! their restaurant downstairs was fantastic as well! I know most people don't travel for the hotel but if you want a break from running around all day this is it.
Very helpful staff, led by an exceptional management team, did their utmost to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast facilities were adequate. Hotel position is the one thing that disappoints, but should not put guests off staying here. Facilities are perfectly adequate for business and leisure travellers alike.
Everything was great! The only issue is the location is a bit far from the city center and the surrounding area is a bit run down. However, being away from the city center has its advantages, like it was very quiet
I was late arriving ,5.30 PM, after I got unpacked I realised that the receptionist had not given me the log in details for the free wifi.By that time the the receptionist had gone ,as it isn't a large hotel with 24 hr reception facilities. When I obtained the wifi pass code the following day the system worked well . There is a TV in the room but no English channels, so the wifi is useful for news and entertainment. The apartments are on two floors , mine was on the lower level , my window looked on to a central courtyard .There wasn't a great deal of natural light getting in to the room , so I had to have some of the lights switched on when in the apartment. The top floor might be a better choice ,if available.
There was a free digital safe provided. Two minutes walk from the apartment there is a Lidl supermarket which is open until 9.30 PM .The apartment was modern ,well fitted out and cleaned every day.
My staff and I were in Milan working on the Expo2015 and I have to say that the UNA Scandinavia was perfect. The staff is extremely helpful and accommodating. The only small issues I have are with the Internet which is blocked for applications like DropBox, so it can become a hindrance to business travelers who need strong connectivity to their work. The Breakfast could also use a slight tweak as I found it to be below standard of what I have experienced in Italy at other properties of this caliber. The café con late is undrinkable (hotel instant coffee) stick to the cappuccino and espresso for that second cup.
The market held every Tuesday and Saturday in front of the Hotel is fantastic but be aware that it may hinder your arrival or departure. The supermarket directly across from the Hotel is also quite wonderful. It has a well stocked prepared meal section which was useful for long work days. The area has many great restaurants within walking distance catering to the Milanese as well as being very friendly to transient guests in this great city.
Hotel is in a good location for visiting EXPO also if you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of the centre of Milan.
You can get a tram (No. 12) into the city. Just remember to purchase a ticket before boarding! Tickets can be bought at newspaper kiosks.
We ate in the hotel one night and whilst pricey the quality of food and level of service was very good. For breakfast there is plenty of choice of continental/cooked/cereals/fruit.
All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Located in the north-west and originally established in the 1920s, Fiera Milano is Italy’s most important exhibition centre. Now revitalised and set around a central park, some 80 trade fairs are held here annually including the all-important fashion collections. A circular bus service links all entrance gates with Amendola Fiera metro station. Frequent shuttle buses also run from Linate airport.
