I reserved online with expedia. Even though I did not have to call to confirm my resevation with the hotel, I did because I was going to be arriving with a late check in, even though I was guaranteed a late check in also.
When I called the hotel, they told me they did not have any reservation under my name and thay they got the reservations sent from the hotel in San Miguel City. So I called that other hotel. They told me the person in charge of online reservations had left early and had no more access to that information, but they told me to go to the hotel and that the next day they would send the resevation info to my hotel. I checked in and the receptionist at the lobby blindly gave me a room; I offered him to see my resevation on my phone but he didnt care, he seemed to blindly trust me.
My reservation nowhere detailes whether the room had air conditioning or a fan, but I wad blindly assigned a room with a/c.
The next day they charged me the difference of what I had paid in expedia because I had paid enough for a room with a fan, and was assigned one with a/c. I told them I blindly accepted because I didnt know. I felt ripped off. They called San Miguel and they apologized for their mistake assigning me a more expensive room, but asked me to pay for the difference on the rate. I didnt feel it was fair but paid. I made my observations and let them know they were being unfair to me as customer. Later that day they returned the cash to my friend who stayed with me.
