This was a very dated facility. It was noisy and the staff were a bunch of kids into their own world. Food was very average in the premises. The staff was flirtations in addition to being arrogant and childish

We were staying for 1 night and did not like the front desk service which never provided towels for our complete group. The room only had 3 when we were 5. We requested them but never received them, the front desk guy was not helpful at all or interested in our concern. We also did not like the amount of trash you find in common areas that caused so many flies as early as breakfast.

The room was larger than expected. Since it was a Monday that we checked in, it was very quiet and felt like we had the place to ourselves (although there were others that rented out other rooms). Whenever we wanted to use the slide, they would turn it on for us. Room was nice and clean and spacious.

This was a very quiet and naturalistic place. The views are impeccable. The staff is super friendly and helpful. It rained while we were there so we couldn’t enjoy the fire pit if you are looking for a little escape and to be in touch with nature this is good place. Be advised things close by 7:30 pm there.

The property was well maintained and felt safe with my wife there. The AC worked well. The beds were soft and got plenty of sleep. The only thing I did not like was the many stray cats that were in the property

It was my mistake not checking the reviews. How ever hotel its supposed to be affiliated with 5start trópico inn in San Miguel. I thought was going to be good but it wasn’t.

very old structure needs to update everything in general outside and inside the cabins The price they charge is too high for what they offer I do not recommend this place I am very disappointed

Beautiful beach. Bad experience. I booked two bedrooms and drove three hours and a half to get to playa cuco. Once I arrived, I was told no rooms were available anymore. Apparently they had been out of rooms for days and the staff didn’t understand how I was able to a book a stay. Overall bad customer service as well. I asked for a refund on Expedia and I did not receive one because Expedia couldn’t get in contact with Playa cuco. Disappointing.

Staff was very kind and helpful. The rooms are very clean. The breakfast very good and nutritious. The beach is fantastic. The best I been to so far. The garden very well kept and beautiful. Owners need to hire more personal to keep the outdoor area clean all the time. The second day all the garbage from the previous day was still there and the dining area stunk so bad that I had to move out to a garden table to somehow enjoy my breakfast. The pool was not crystalline. Not inviting.

I was arguing with them for the price they wanted to charge me more than what I had paid online was not the actual price of the room that was only for the reservation as a fee and they wanted to charge me an extra $ 200 but finally after we talked to the manager handed us the rooms for the price paid at hotel.com

We really enjoyed being at Tropiclub Playa El Cuco. The stuff was great. We felt secure, breakfast delicious, the beach very clean, the swimming pool so nice with warm water, the showers outside as well as the inside, very strong pressure, unlike Galveston, hahaha. I definitely recommend it. We are going back soon.

We arrived at 1PM and we were only told that check in was at 3PM. We were not told that we were welcome to use the swimming pool or to have a drink at the restaurant. We sat at the open room restaurant and no one offer drinks or food. I think they are too polite and a bit afraid of clients that they miss opportunities to sell. Gerson was very nice and help us with our mini luggage when he met us half way to our room. I think he was coming from helping another client. He quickly return with two bottles of water despite the fact that we didn't tip him because of luck of change. Around 5:30, we went to the restaurant and the food was a bit delayed. When I asked for the bill, they just ask what was my room and they said they were going to charge it to the room. I said I didn't leave a credit card and the server say "no problem, you will pay tomorrow at check out". I believe that there is no cashier and that why they don't offer drinks before you check in. Staff is polite and helpful there is no question about that and the rooms are clean. There were about 10 mosquitoes (zancudos) in the room that we killed before sleeping. We slept very well. My visit was August 1, 2016 which is peak time for mosquitoes. Wifi was slow at night, decent in the morning but it was down twice fro an hour. I was going to stay three days depending on wifi connectivity because I was going to be working in the morning and I had to go elsewhere.

Great beach
I went with my wife to spend a night , the price for our cabana was very cheap, with breakfast included. When we arrived the hotel staff was very attentive, the cabana we took was not as I expected but you get what you pay for. The beach was excellent, I loved it , we enjoyed a beautiful sunset and we woke up early to see the sunrise . The thing that I didn't like was that people selling crafts from the outside came in to sell their stuff inside , I think that as a suggestion for the hotel they should restrict access only for guests and work personnel. We loved our stay here and we loved the beach, the price was reasonable but security needs to be more vigorous.

Problems with online resevations
I reserved online with expedia. Even though I did not have to call to confirm my resevation with the hotel, I did because I was going to be arriving with a late check in, even though I was guaranteed a late check in also. When I called the hotel, they told me they did not have any reservation under my name and thay they got the reservations sent from the hotel in San Miguel City. So I called that other hotel. They told me the person in charge of online reservations had left early and had no more access to that information, but they told me to go to the hotel and that the next day they would send the resevation info to my hotel. I checked in and the receptionist at the lobby blindly gave me a room; I offered him to see my resevation on my phone but he didnt care, he seemed to blindly trust me. My reservation nowhere detailes whether the room had air conditioning or a fan, but I wad blindly assigned a room with a/c. The next day they charged me the difference of what I had paid in expedia because I had paid enough for a room with a fan, and was assigned one with a/c. I told them I blindly accepted because I didnt know. I felt ripped off. They called San Miguel and they apologized for their mistake assigning me a more expensive room, but asked me to pay for the difference on the rate. I didnt feel it was fair but paid. I made my observations and let them know they were being unfair to me as customer. Later that day they returned the cash to my friend who stayed with me.
