Hotel San Moisè -2017

Posted 29-Jul-2017
Pros: Perfectly located in the main san marco part of venice which meant we could grab some great pictures and tranquil moments before the tourists arrived.
Cons: Tea and coffee facilities in the room ,breakfast to be available earlier, fresh Juices and not (poor) concentrated diluted juices, smell in lobby area
Location: Centrally located close to all the main site seeing locations 5 mins - st marks square 10mins - rialto bridge 7mins - bridge of sighs
Came across Hotel San Moisè while searching for a central located hotel, found the price fitted my budget and decided to book it .We found it really easy to find literally 2mins from the drop off point at the pier on the grand canal.Found the hotel pretty much like the pictures apart from a few alterations ( to be expected ),having arrived earlier than the book in time i had contacted the hotel to see if we could drop the bags in early, very pleased with how quick and helpful they were at giving me a reply .We had booked the luxury balcony room which was as expected super king size bed and two single beds for the kids ( only downside was no tea or coffee making facilities in room ) .Cant fault the size of the room etc as we found it accommodating and clean.Breakfasts were included in our price ,although acceptable and fresh i would of liked to see a little more choice on offer as after 3 days of eating the same thing became boring (maybe a pre order of breakfast choice ? ).Cannot fault the hotels location as it was super quick to reach all of the main tourist spots before they landed on the island. As with all reviews about venice it was City prices so expect to pay on average between €9 -€18 per head for food ,drinks are expensive with basic water starting at €1.50 upwards so i'd advise keeping hold of your bottle and fill up at the drinking fountains that are dotted around the different districts. Although the tourist spots are nice it does get really busy so head off track

good location

I have got what i expected almost and satisfied. I have a few comments: The air conditioner works noisy and there is no service to the garden in the nice picture, the breakfast was poor.

If your on a budget this is great. Don't expect much, it old and dated with a bathroom that is tight quarters.

Tiny rooms

Posted 06-Jun-2017
I don't know what kind of lens they used when photographing these rooms but our room was TINY. The bathroom you couldn't even stretch your arms out without touching the walls. There was no shower pan just the floor and a curtain so water got all over the floor each time you showered and you had to use all your towels to dry it up. Room was hot and humid, we were both uncomfortable the four days we were there could not get cool. We are at the Pallazetta Modonna now and it's much superior room is spacious and air is working nice. Wish we had come here sooner! I would NOT recommend San Moise Hotel to anyone.

The hotel was really nice and cosy. Excellent breakfast. Really good location close to Pizza San Marco and very charming with a room in two levels. We can only give Hotel San Moisé our best recommendations.

San Moise The good and the bad

Posted 16-May-2017 on Hotels
Our room at the San Moise which was a classic double (104)was extremely small (the picture being very deceptive)We barely had room to walk between the bed and the wall. It was also extremely hot (the air conditioning was not working) and the view was of a dilapidated courtyard(not the main courtyard which is pictured and was very pleasant)The room itself as well as the ensuite were clean and there was a decent sized bath. The staff were helpful and allowed us to store our luggage on our early arrival. A porter is also available to carry your luggage upstairs if you require one. The hotel itself is very charming and situated right on the canal It is in a great position being close to San Marco Square, the Rialto bridge and the Alilaguna water bus. The hotel is easy to find and there are 2 bridges to cross which are not difficult to negotiate if you only have 1 large suitcase. The trip to the airport was easy (we purchased tickets from the onsite machine at San Marco stop the night before departure). It takes 1 hour exactly to get from the San Marco water bus stop to the airport and then quite a lengthy walk to the actual terminal,so allow yourself plenty of time. Breakfast was great and there was plenty of choice. I feel the hotel was overpriced even at the discounted rate but most of the hotels in Venice are.
