“Give me air”
Property was quite nice and rooms were adequate. Major problem with air conditioning. They control the air and evidently ration it. We had 3 rooms but air was not turn on for first few hours on a warm night. One room never came on. Party at pool below was no major problem was very noisy for awhile.

Wow! Beach front, great pool (clean & warm), amazing beach access with chairs and umbrella. If you have children they have a kids club, pool and playground on the beach. Fabulous walking path- you can walk to Amantea (3.8km) or borrow bike from the hotel. Also, rooms very clean and staff incredibly friendly. Restaurant Gets a high rating- if you like the seafood get the Neptune platter (1 order is good for 2 people)

Very happy with the service friendly staff, soon after we got our room we rand reception requesting if possible another room on the top floor with better sea view and was no trouble, sending someone to give us the key, position couldn't get any better across the road from beautiful sand and blue water, I must say at breakfast we had Enzo the waiter, couldn't do enough for us. very happy.

Lovely place by the sea
Lovely hotel right on the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful most spoke English well. Food was excellent and reasonably priced and we enjoyed drinking the house wine on our balcony over looking the sea or on the beach. It was very quiet as we came in April . Just what we wanted for a peaceful break

This is an excellent hotel for the price you are paying. Excellent room, excellent staff and excellent food. I recommend it to anyone who wants to stay some days at Amantea. Very good choice.

it was a quiet peasant stay, outside of tourist time, so not so crowded. Staff spoke no English until the 5pm person showed up so we saved all questions for him and he was wonderful and helpful. the rest of the staff was friendly and helped as much as they could. Liked the free bicycle as this was fun,

Stayed there off season, great beach when it's summer. Chose the place for good parking possibilities. Turn out the room was great, with view of the sea, newly refurbished bathroom et. The food in the restaurant very good.

Nice marble floors, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Balcony with an ocean view. Beds were hard like rock! Continental breakfast was OK. Did not like the food at the restaurant.

A really super break. We were there for 25 days so it could have been boring and repetitive, but no! As it was out of season we were sometimes almost on our own but the staff made us feel like family. The room was spotless with linen changed almost every day, food delicious with service at the table in the evenings, no congealed buffet food, very helpful staff with always someone to translate our very poor Italian. My husband had to visit hospital urgently and we were taken to Paola by the manager who waited whilst hubby had treatment. The beach and sea were fantastic so I very much go against the one bad review I read about dirty sea etc. Well done to to the owner, manager, desk staff, waiters, cleaners, laundry staff, maintenance and also the sun bed man. A big hello to everyone and brace yourselves for our return One warning try to avoid Italian NHS

Great place to stay with car - highly recommended
We stayed here for 3 nights in April 2014 to visit relatives. We had a car and visiting relatives in Cosenza. The hotel room is large and we had views over the beach. The gym room also overlooks the beach and the breakfast room is lovely with very helpful staff who also accomodated our relatives who popped by to say hello. We had a great stay here and absolutely no qualms about recommending this place to anyone visiting the area. With a car, Amantea City is a 5 minute drive away. Stay here and drive to Tropea for the day too!

Lovely hotel beside the beach
Great location if you want to be away from the crowds. The beach is just beside the hotel, so you are well positioned for a relaxing holiday. The hotel is clean and has everything you could wish for - clean towels daily, fridge, fabulous bathroom and even bath robes.

A perfect location - everything you need for a quiet break. The staff are extremely helpful, rooms are large, clean and well equipped and the beach is located just across the road. We're planning to return again!

Pleasant stay in Amantea.
Great beachside location however the air conditioning was turned off for most of the day and the pool hours were very limited during our stay. If staying here you really need a car to get around.

We chose this hotel and location as a half-way point on our way from Amalfi to Taormina since we didn't want to drive a full 8 hours with kids and older adults. The location of this hotel is great for this purpose! It's a beach resort! They have onsite parking, pool, and tennis, and are across the street from the beach. The restaurant is good. Minimal English spoken by staff, so it may be difficult to communicate at times.

AMAZING!!!!
We had a great experience at La Tonnara. The staff was very friendly and they did everything to make sure our stay was great. The restaurant in the hotel was amazing. There was a great variety of pasta and seafood and it was well priced. We stayed here for 5 nights and ate here almost every night! The rooms were very clean and spacious and the bathrooms were really big. The hotel is also right in front of the beach which is very convientant. We would reccomend renting a car when staying at this hotel because there aren't any restaurants or stores near by. Overall we would definity come back to this hotel because of all its great qualities.

La Tonnara hotel - Southern Italy get away
BeautIful location by the sea. Easy access to the coast line but private were very little traffic passing by as on the main road. Hotel is right on the beach. Our room overlooking the sea. With a bautiful sunset. Family and romantic oriented hotel with pool and tennis facilities. We feel we were on a resourt without the resort prices. Although, we came on the off season, the weather was sunny an hot. The beach was like our private beach. The staff were great. Great hospitality, clean, and helpful. We are coming back next year with no question.

La Tonnara at Amantea
Very picturesque, yet somewhat remote setting. The hotel was by far the best of the 4 star locations for my week of travel; the room and bathroom was fully equipped with expected simple conveniences such as hooks to hang your towels and a shelf to place shampoo and soap, and a large enough shower to actually turn around in! There was an onsite restaurant, tennis court, free biking, swimming pool and the manager was most gracious to pick us up and return us to the train station at no cost...not sure if this is typical, but was much appreciated. Though we were at "the beach" at the wrong time of year, mid May is cold and rainy, there would have been plenty of beach access to enjoy the sun and surf. The only drawback was that the town of Amantea was about 5 miles away and without a personal vehicle, there was no opportunity to explore the city center, historic sites, churches, etc. Much better facility than the Amalfi Excelsior and reasonably priced!

totally comfortable
While this hotel was not typically luxurious, it was completely comfortable and simple elegant. The food was superb as was the service; the room provided us with everything we needed from free internet service to a balcony overlooking the ocean. It was a peaceful, lovely and quiet retreat after tiring days exploring the interior of Calabria. In short, it was a haven.

Séjour à Amentea
Notre séjour s'est très bien passé, dans un hôtel très très propre, des chambres plus que parfaites et avec un personnel charmant, sympathique, aimable, disponible et à l'écoute. Je conseille vivement cet endroit avec des chambres qui ont vu sur la mer avec le son des vagues toutes la journée et toute la nuit, en plus de l'odeur de la mer. Tout était vraiment merveilleux et fantastique et nous comptons revenir l'année prochaine

Sicuramente bellissimo
Non so come sia l’hotel visto che non ci sono stata. Avevo fatto la cancellazione e mi aveva dato pure la conferma il sistema fino a quando non hanno chiamato dall’hotel e mi ha chiesto come mai non mi fossi presentata in hotel. Non hanno voluto sentire ragione ne l’hotel ne Expedia e così ho dovuto pagare lo stesso. Non prenoterò più con Expedia questo è sicuro.
