~ Our cleaning staff is being extra diligent in disinfecting the property – before guests arrive and after guests depart -- with particular attention to high touch items and hard surfaces. To allow the extra time needed for this enhanced cleaning protocol, we will ensure a minimum of 24 hours between reservations.

~ To limit non-essential contact between staff and guests, we have temporarily suspended our daily housekeeping service except in an emergency.

Casa de Cooper's Casita Romantica is a one bedroom villa that can comfortably accommodate between 1 - 3 guests. It is the perfect vacation home for an unforgettable romantic vacation or fun-filled holiday for a family of 3.

Guests of Casita Romantica benefit from the expertise of a professional bilingual meet & greet and concierge who will assist with every aspect of your stay, including pre-arrival planning.

The Space
The spacious master suite - the heart of the home - is located on the upper level of the house. It's outfitted with king bed, ensuite bathroom with a walk-in hot water shower and double vanity. The master suite also benefits from plenty of storage and hanging space and large flat screen TV.

Directly out the front door on the lower entry level is your private patio. You can start or end your day with a dip in the refreshing plunge pool with views across the valley.

Spend the day under the rancho lounging on the deck chairs, swinging in the hammock, napping or reading a good book.

At night grill up the day's catch of mahi-mahi or red snapper, or some of Nicaragua’s famous beef on your North American style gas BBQ.

Inside on the main level of Casita Romantica you'll find a fully stocked kitchen complete with every pot, pan, glass and utensil you might need to create a gourmet meal using fresh local Nicaraguan ingredients.

The comfortable and cozy living room includes an oversized futon, 2 large armchairs and flat screen TV. Indoor dining space is also provided for the evenings you would prefer to sit inside.

Also on this level is a 2nd full washroom with shower and easy access from the pool, kitchen and futon sleeping area.

Built from the material adobe Casita Romantica is a relaxed and comfortable space even during the heat of midday. It's elevation above town results in nearly constant cooling breezes.

Guest access
Your Casita Romantica vacation includes access to 2 Pelican Eyes community pools. They are located a 5-minute walk from the casita and are open daily from 7 am to sundown.

Cascada Club Restaurant & Bar is located on the lower level of the community and is open Thursday to Sunday from noon to 10 pm.

Other things to note
The last 300 meters of the drive to Casita Romantica is uphill and unpaved. Extra care is required during rainy season, especially for guests arriving in a compact car.

We have an electricity allowance of 30 kilowatts per day. This is a sufficient amount to power the casita with responsible use of air conditioning in the bedroom at night. Electricity consumption over this amount will be charged at a rate of $0.50 USD per kilowatt hour.

We are pet friendly and allow one (1) well behaved dog providing it weighs 20 lbs or less. Pets must be registered at the time of booking.

Amazing place to relax and enjoy quiet time

Perfect in every way!

This is a wonderful property. The property manager is on site and is so helpful. The pool and patio area were awesome. I highly recommend this property.

The Cooper house and the Casita Romantica is everything as edvertised. My wife and 8 year old son truly enjoyed the great views, local shopping and amazing food just 5 minutes away from the house. I like to give a special recognition to Gabriel Zamora, the property manager for being on top of things during our stay. He made sure our pool clean and the the house keepers did a great job daily of our rooms and living areas.

The good: The owners (the coopers) are very responsive and caring to making sure your stay is as promised. It is a good location for those who do not party and want a private pool. We enjoyed the suite very much. The hill from downtown is steep but manageable. The bad: Gabriel the host- he was not there when we checked in. The pool was very low and dirty and needed water. He said he would get it and didnt retun for over 10 hours. He looked at my messages and never responded. We had to email the owners to get him to respond and handle it. The ugly: Gabriel told the guests above us they could access our area to get to their pool when the listing states we only share our space with the guests in our suite. This caused tension with the others when we asked them to stop. I then called gabriel and he replied it wasnt his problem and hungup on me. I was then forced to call the owners and bother them. They handled it promptly and effectively. If it wasnt for the owners, our stay would have been ruined This is a great place to stay, but if the onsite host isnt responding to your concerns, you will likely need to contact the owners to get resolution. Other than that, wonderful space! And dont forget to feed the orange cat :)

This is the second year staying at the Casita Romantica. Let me tell you there is no mistake this is heaven on earth. Everything you see in the pictures is that and then some. But to make things even more spectacular the quality of service you get from George and his constituents ia BAR NONE!!! We used the car service George provides from the airport to SJDS and back to Masaya and even that was outstanding. Quality cars great A/C and If you use them as for Evertz as your driver! As you can see I can't say enough great things about this place! Do not pass go... If you are in the fence this is your house! Liz Giddings - Florida

Beautiful location for romantic anniversary!

As a 30th anniversary getaway, Casita Romanitica was perfect. The bedroom and 2 bathrooms are very spacious and the unit is well equipped. We brought 12 bottles of wine (max allowed by customs) and put it all to good use. The private pool was perfect for us to spend a day doing nothing. Exploring the town was fun - unique shops, loved Simon Says for lunch, bought fresh bread, fruit, and veggies at the Mercado, and fresh fish (filleted as we watched) from the docks, and barbecued most nights on the Romantica deck while enjoying the spectacular sunsets. We took a class at the Choco school in town making our own chocolate –definitely a fun activity, and learned a lot about my favorite food. Yes, it is rainy season, but the views from the house of mountains and valley are amazing with a million shades of green. A hurricane hit the east coast the last few days of our adventure, but after dealing with Irma in Florida, this was easy. The clay packed roads got extremely muddy and we learned it is imperative to have a 4-wheel drive. Most of the main roads are paved, but getting into the mountains was a feat. We tried driving north on the Chocolate Highway, but gave up after 30 minutes. Everywhere we went, the Nicas are wonderful people. Even though we don’t speak Spanish they would always go out of their way to help and we felt very welcome in their country. Gabriel, the Cooper caretaker met us when we pulled in, and was on site every day to answer any questions. He even gave us a tour of the other Cooper units that were empty at the time and it is obvious Casa Cooper is highly maintained. The rest of the Pelican Eyes campus is sprawling and we took advantage of double massages at the spa and a very romantic dinner at the main restaurant overlooking the pool and ocean. Casita Romantica exceeded expectations and we highly recommend it!

Best in San Juan

We have been coming to San Juan del Sur for 10 years. The Casa Romántica at Casa Cooper was far and away the best place we have stayed. Wonderful views, great kitchen, outdoor space with dining area, lounge chairs, and small private pool. Definitely 5 Star! We definitely plan to return next year and will look no further than “Casa Cooper”.

Awesome!

Great location, close to town but not too close. Perfectly named Casita Romantica as it is a great spot for a couple! Beautiful place with amazing views! Some construction going on around and in the resort but nothing too disturbing or distracting. The pool is great as are the pools in the resort. We were the only ones in Casa De Cooper so it was nice and private. George was great with his communication and information prior to arrival. Highly recommend this place!

Stunning views and house was amazing!

We were so blessed to have had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful home for the month of February. The pictures don't actually do the property justice - this casa we called our "pimped out Flintstone house" with all of the concrete, it was everything and more than we needed. We enjoyed the walk into town and back everyday to get our fresh baked bread and inexpensive fresh fruits and vegetables at the market. The BBQ was a perfect touch for grilling our fresh chicken and veggies. Gabriel (Property Manager) and housecleaning staff were top notch. They struck a perfect balance of respecting our privacy and making sure we were not for want. Sandra and George were a pleasure to deal with and we had no concerns about the rental process, any question(s) we had, were always answered quickly. Our private pool was well used and much enjoyed. We even came to love the sounds of Noah's Ark living down below the hillside. We like to be good guests (energy conscious) and had made a pact not to use the AC the month that we were there . . . although it was scorching hot some days, because of the plentiful screened windows and many ceiling fans, we did just fine without A/C! We have travelled the world and this place is definitely one of our faves - we will be back! Kim & Jim

Wonderful home & excellent staff

My husband and I stayed at Casa Romantica for 5 nights and we loved it. The view and the sunsets are amazing! We were walking distant to San Juan Del Sur and if we didn't feel like walking it was easy to get a taxi or have the resort pick us up for a small fee. The house was in excellent condition and kept very clean. We had everything we needed during our stay. We were hoping to stay again on our next visit in November but it is already book. Our loss. We will definetly stay here again. Thank you to the Cooper family for sharing their beautiful home with us. Eddie & Denise

Amazing Spot!!

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Casita Romantica for 6 nights when we were in San Juan. The place was even better then the pictures. Very clean, and the views were breathtaking, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Gabriel the property manager was very accommodating and provided us with transportation/taxi into town when needed. Great spot to get away from the bustle of the town but close enough to town as well. Highly recommend this place!!

More than wonderful

Where can I start to express how perfect Casita Romantica was. The pictures don't lie; it is heaven on earth. Everything about the place is perfect. The patio with the pool and a great view is just unbelievable. We started everyday there and even if we had stayed in Casita Romantica and its pool the whole week, our vacaction would have been perfect. We did go to beaches and the town, but the true core of the vacation... We spend it the perfect private pool. The pool and so many other things are being taken care of by Gabriel, who works as groundkeeper. He is so nice and welcoming and helpful, always happy to help or answer a question. The same goes for Estella who works as a housekeeper. Always nice and polite. Plus, George and Sandra the owners were always super quick to answer any interrogative e-mail I sent them. I didn't get to meet them, but they were always helpful and nice and... Yes I only have positive things to say about the whole experience. I would recommend this place to everyone; From my best friend to my mom, everybody willl LOVE this place. 10 mins walk to town and the beach ; perfect location. Wonderful view, it is worth the little walk uphill everyday. We always walked up instead of taking taxis, because the walk isnt this long and the pool once you arrive is the best thing in the world. I could go on saying positive things about la Casita, but you get the point. Everybody needs to go there.

STUNNING VIEWS, ROMANTIC ACCOMMODATIONS & BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIPS

Most comfortable bed & suite with the most incredible views, never wanted to leave, but there's so much to do in SJDS! It was a perfect fit for my husband and self, active walk to town & attractions...which we like! Too many activities & restaurants to try in our week stay. Sandra & George, owners, were on site and are amazing! You are incredibly lucky to get to know these two, their passion for Nicaragua (and fine local cigars;) & abundance of hospitality & friendship! We highly recommend and will return!

"My husband and I stayed at Casita Romantica a few weeks ago and had a great time. The house was sparkling clean and well taken care of. It was everything that was advertised and more. In fact, the property looks better than the pictures. The linens were so soft and nice. The towels were a heavy cotton style and were great to use. Would we return for another visit? You bet! We love the private pool and all the care the housekeeping staff gave us. Kayla was exceptional nice and always cheerful. We would recommend this casa for anyone that wanted to get away for a private hide-away and beautiful views of the ocean and valley."
