The service and staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make us feel special. The hotel itself is very beautiful and airy. The bathroom which was done in marble was very slippery when wet although they did include a rubber mat for the shower - just be careful when stepping out of the shower.

Somewhat disappointing. The price is rather high (I booked the best so to say room) but the room is not very clean I do not think they vacuum every day, the description on Expedia mentioned bath robes but they were not present and it took two requests to get them. The fridge is not really cold it is only somewhat cold. The common areas are nice but tables are missing in seating areas where you would enjoy a drink or a book or both, The food is only average.

Lovely historic property although the reception staff could benefit from training on how best to address guests. Unfortunately upon arrival at the hotel at 1pm we were told there was no electricity due to maintenance and it was scheduled to come back at 3pm (check in time). The hotel reception charged our credit card in full for the stay for two rooms at 1pm. They were not overly polite or accommodating. At 3pm, upon our return for checkin, there was still no electricity and one of the rooms was not ready. For such a highly reputable property, we did not understand how the second room was not ready when checkin was 3pm and the hotel had fully charged us for the two rooms 2 hours earlier. The reception staff again advised it was due to maintenance issues and not overly accommodating. We waited 30 min and again returned to news that there was no electricity and second room still not ready. 4pm the second room was finally ready. Electricity however still had not returned. We requested further explanation. Finally reception gave us the full back story and delays were due to the local electrical govt agency. Electricity was finally restored at about 5pm. The general manager did call us later to apologize for the inconvenience and sent us a plate of fresh fruit.
