Old hotel but well maintained!

This is one of many stays at this hotel over the years. Clean, priced right, convenient and close to interstates.

Quiet and peaceful

Posted 18-Jan-2017
Pros: Nature
Cons: Heat/air conditioner unit
Location: Starbucks and down town Los Gatos.
Very quiet and peaceful. Room heat semi-worked. Loud unit and took away from peaceful atmosphere created by nature surrounding. Hotel should replace units for units that fit with surroundings and nature. Overall good.

Needs remodeling

Posted 12-Jan-2017
Pros: Location
Bathroom was not clean. Shower was tiny and dribbled. Took 30 minutes to get the shampoo out of my hair. Bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good.

Second time ............

Posted 18-Dec-2016
Pros: clean friendly and helpful when something went bad.
Cons: Updated plumbing.
Location: many restaurants, parks, fairly close to Santa Cruz
This is the second time I have stayed here and had a plumbing issue. This time the plumbing above leaked on to my wife from the ceiling. The staff was great and moved us to another room. After that, things were just fine.

Nostalgic hotel at affordable price

Posted 15-Dec-2016
Pros: Price, bed comfort, and cleanliness.
Cons: Facility needs a makeover. Decor was dated, and worn.
Location: Located next to high school, and close to many downtown restaurants.
Bed was very comfortable, and had coffee maker, microwave and mini-refrigerator. It was nice to look out on a green park-like area. The price was affordable, and the room was very clean albeit in need of a makeover. The reception desk weren't really friendly, but not unfriendly either. Lodge also had a cute "divish" bar with happy hour. The layout of the facility was very reminiscent of motels/hotels of yesteryear, but more of a resort feel. I opted to stay on the second floor, and noted that there wasn't an elevator which wasn't a problem for me.

Adequate hotel close to freeway.

Posted 15-Dec-2016
Pros: The grounds and landscaping are lovely.
Cons: Sound insulation!
Location: The location is close to the freeway and within (long) walking distance to downtown.
The biggest disappointment was that the walls of the rooms are paper thin. Also, animals are allowed, so we had a barking dog next to our room. One positive was that the hotel staff did contact the owners and they and their happy dog moved rooms.

A smelly smoky dive hotel

Posted 19-Nov-2016
My room smelled so bad and people were smoking pot and cigarettes on the grounds. A big cigarette container was right aside the door to the restaurant. It was so gross. Someone was sleeping in their car when I went to leave one morning. They had the TV on a Spanish station during breakfast because the majority were Mexican construction workers. The offer breakfast but not until 7 - most other places start at 6. The food was greasy and gross - and the "hot' food was late

Disappointing hotel on a lot of levels

Posted 18-Nov-2016
Lodge was convenient and allowed dogs in some rooms, however I was told there would be one fee for bringing a pet and when I checked in this was different and much more. Staff was extremely unfriendly and did not seem willing to help or share anything about the facility such as where the restaurant is, or even where to find my room. I was not made to feel welcome here whatsoever. The room itself was disappointing, dingy and unclean. It was also extremely loud, to the point that I was unable to sleep much one night due to other guests making noise continuously and rowdiness in the parking lot. After I checked out, I received two additional charges on my card for the room which I had already pre-paid for. Resolving this issue was a giant hassle, and staff I spoke with were unfriendly and unprofessional. My experience is unfortunate, as this would be a convenient place for me to stay again in the future, but I will not be returning.
