Hotel is old and cold

Posted 31-Jan-2016
Pros: Not much
Cons: Insulated Windows one curtains, better wifi
Location: Location is great, right off freeway, nearby town with lots of food choices
Should not advertise free wifi, it cuts outs n dies ..staff said to come to lobby (@ 11pm?) for better reception.

Out Stay at Los Gatos Lodge

Posted 04-Jan-2016
Pros: We have stayed at the Los Gatos Lodge many times because we like the location.
Cons: Monday ~ Friday breakfast should be served at 6:00. Saturday and Sunday it should be served no later than 7:00. The hot food should be out at 7:00.
Location: The location is excellent and is in close proximity to Hwy. 17 and downtown Los Gatos.
The bed was not cozy and warm and we needed another blanket. We did not request one since it was late and we were tired, but we think there should've been an extra blanket in the room. Breakfast on Saturday is not served until 7:30 and that is much too late. We arrived in the Garden Room at 7:30 and the ham/potatoes/eggs had not been put and we had to wait until 7:45 before they were brought out from the kitchen. THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. The setup was poor and there were no bowls near the hot cooked cereal. The bowls were on the side table with the dry cereal.

The hotel is ok, if you look for a cheaper why to stay in Los Gatos, don't expect to much, but it also was ok, the stuff was nice and helpful.

We had no heat and it was in the 40's.

Posted 29-Nov-2015
Pros: Decent breakfast.
Cons: Well, working heat would help. So would a room clock and closet. Staff couldn't care, insisted problem fixed each day.
Location: Los Gatos is beautiful.
Each morning I would complain that the heat went off at nine o'clock at night and never went back on. Each morning the maintence guy came over to turn it on for the day. It then went off at 9:00 pm permanently each time. Their solution was to give us a space heater and more blankets. For $150 a night we had no heat and the staff couldn't care. Never offered to change our room, they insisted the problem was fixed. Three days of hell staying there. NEVER AGAIN! No clock in the room, no closet but I can live with that. Heat and water seem like nice things to have in winter when it's 43 degrees.

Close to old town.

Room was pretty clean. Bathroom needs lots of work desperate need of an update. Walls are thin, people above had a child, he fell off the bed could hear him crying, then was running back and forth very early in the morning.

Don't Even Think About It

Posted 13-Nov-2015
Pros: Nothing. (And, I'm not that difficult to please regarding "average" hotels.) This was absolutely the worst hotel experience I've ever encountered.
Cons: See above. Water would be nice. I'd STILL like the (as promised by the manager) $30 off of my bill. It has been more than 6 weeks now.
Location: Stay somewhere else.
Overall, the staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. (One exception is the person who assisted me getting into my hotel room. He was helpful and kind.) Water was shut off the next morning (i.e., NO water, shower, sink, etc., before leaving for important business meeting) and I was "blamed" by a woman at the front desk that they notified each room one hour before shut off. I mentioned that I was having breakfast in THEIR dining room. She informed me that it wasn't her problem that I "HAD to have breakfast." Also, there was no internet access, although front desk placated travelers stating they'd "reset" the server, which, when I was in the lobby tackling the printer, I overheard numerous conversations. I noticed they never did (although mentioning it to at least 7 different guests). Computer was out of ink. Printer needed aligning. Door to hotel room could NEVER be opened without staff assisting me on each and every occasion. (You had to actually shove your shoulder into the door like a linebacker.) I requested a discount upon checkout (after no shower, etc.) and manager first stated I would receive a reduction the NEXT time I stayed there. I stated I would not stay there again and would like some discount. I have yet to receive the minimal discount off my bill. I believe staff should, at least, be respectful and I do not think water out of a faucet is a luxury in hotels. Unfortunately, those are only SOME of the reasons you should stay anywhere but here!
