My wife and I were on our way back home after a week visiting Monterey. Since we flew into SJC we only needed to stay one night. The room was okay, but there was no refrigerator or microwave (standard amenities at chain hotels). Not a big deal since we were there only one night. The restaurant was good, however. When we arrived in the room, the A/C was not on so it was uncomfortably warm. After a few hours of running on high the room cooled off to a more acceptable level. There are no elevators in the buildings that housed the rooms making getting our luggage to the 2nd floor difficult. Also, there was no A/C in the hallway, again affecting the difficulty of carring luggage up a flight of stairs.
The pool area and hot tub was nice although the hot tub is separated from the pool area. The shuttle service was very good and the staff was excellent.
If we come back to San Jose for a longer stay, we would most likely choose a hotel with more room ammenities.
The hotel is part of the Santana Row Development and virtue of that has shopping and dining, and a little bit of entertainment at your doorstep. Good choices for dinner and shopping. The hotel does provide some nice privacy when you get tired of the activity outside with nice courtyard dining and rooftop pool with bar and food service.
We made reservations online, but were told all rooms were sold out when we got there late at night. Were then sent to another hotel 15 miles away while we were all exhausted.
It would be nice if we can be notified about this in advance, and receive some compensation.
Great location to our event and located right next to the airport. Front desk staff very nice from our checking-in to supplying us with more towels. I love the bathroom set-up, I especially love the decor. The bed was nice and comfy. Kids loved the sofa-bed, thanks for having a sofa bed in the room, it's comes handy with families when only 1 bed is available @ time of booking. We are an Embassy Suites family but it looks like "now" Embassy Suites will have a competitor. Thank you!
Basking in 300 sunny days a year, San Jose offers stylish, old-time streetscapes in its lively downtown historic district. Its vibrant arts scene explores the innovative and the traditional with galleries, museums, public works, and performances. Indie-film lovers flock to its Cinequest Film Festival each year. For shopping, visit Japantown; Santana Row mall; and Valley Fair, home to 366 stores.
