Nice Hotel

First time at this hotel. It was clean and comfortable. Restaurant was a little pricey. Bed was extra comfy.

My Tryp to Costa Rica

Pros: Location
Cons: The room need to be cleaned! I don't think the maid ever vacuum the room in my nine day stay. It shows the dust on carpet, walls, and doors
Overall it was very pleasant, the staff was very nice and attentive

Stayed few other times before but quality in service has gone down my ac was not working properly and wasnt offered another room with properly working ac the auto temperature didnt function so had to manualy turn on and off it was to cold if left on to long then stuffy and hot if off to long ...

Not a great area.

Pros: Coffee shop was nice.
Cons: Management
Location: Terrible location.
The Hotel is in a bad area. Not very inviting. The Hotel is a fine middle of the road Hotel with a nice coffee shop and restaurant for breakfast. We had a family room that is very cool with 2 Queen Beds and a Bunk bed for the kids. The view was into an alley though so we kept the curtains closed. The carpets do need a good deep clean or replacement. Also we where awoken by concrete drilling at 7:30. They are renovating at the Hotel. My main problem was with Management. I booked the Hotel for the start of our trip and the end so that we are close to the Airport. I booked the stays and by acceded booked another 3rd stay that I did not need. I immediately called Expedia and they called the Hotel to get me a refund. They did not want to refund. I then personally contacted the Hotel to ask for a partial refund or a credit to a future stay. The answer was NO, NO, NO. Not a great management style! Give this Hotel a pass; I am sure there are better in San Jose.

Dear guest, We are very sorry you had a "no answer" about a refund to a "non refundable rate", it is though for hotel management to make exceptions to the rules during occupancy periods, however we totally understand your discomfort, this not what you want to hear. We apologize for that. We highly recommend our customers to check those deals they book: when appliying for big discounts often applies "no refund" policies or other partian penalties for cancellations (clearly stated even before paying), there are other rates that may be a little higher but you can cancel withing 24 hours prior to arrival withouth penalties.

Great hotel, good location

Location: Easy and safe 30-min walk to central SJ. Next to Sabana park. Several restaurants nearby, Central Pub (has local draft beer) across the street
We stayed at the TRYP Sabana hotel for 10 nights and I it was a positive experience, I can recommend this hotel without hesitation. The location is perfect - next to Sabana park and only 30 minutes walk to city center, several restaurants and convenience stores are very close, the neighborhood is safe. We had no problem with the street noise - a very busy Avenida Central is one block away but the sound of traffic was just a soft, distant hum. The room was great, bed very comfortable, wi-fi signal strong and working at all times, strong shower...carpet, however, will need to be replaced soon. The best part of our stay was the hotel staff - everybody was so friendly and helpful...front desk, waiters, smiling cleaning lady - just fantastic!

Terrible service by Management

trip to TRYP

Great hotel. Great staff! If you need to get up early, it has an early morning natural alarm clock, with the traffic from below. If you dont need that, make sure you request a room that's not over the front of the building. I would go back to TRYP if I am back in San Jose, CR!!

Best Place to Stay!!!

The staff where Great always helpful! Fabulous Free Breakfast with an amazing selection of food. In addition to standard breakfast its there was main course items that changed each day;such as meat balls, chicken, beef dishes. There was always fresh fruit and daily made cakes, banana bread and other pastries. Maid service for the room was very accommodating. It was a wonderful experience all the way around. I would highly recommend this hotel
