Better Than Expedited

Posted 11-Sep-2016
After spending the week in La Fortune, we drove our rental from our Nayara Hotel so we won't haven't to rush the following morning to catch our 12pm flight. The drive through San Jose proved more trying than expected so when our room was ready before 3pm and we were upgraded to a garden suite, we couldn't have been happier. We rested all day and had dinner in the court yard of the restaurant - the food, service, and even wine recommendation was on point. I highly recommend staying here for any occasion but more so if you just spent a week in the jungles of Costa Rica and aren't looking to have your last moments of vacation spend rushing to make your flight home.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of San Jose

Posted 21-Aug-2016
Old world style but modernised. Great hotel with warm and friendly staff. The restaurant has an inside as well as a courtyard which gives a wonderful dining experience. Would highly recommend this hotel when staying in San Jose.

Pretty hotel

Such a lovely venue. Outside of central area so you will need to use transportation.

Pros: Extremely clean, pretty, and comfortable.
Location: It's in the city and we only saw it at night. Although the surrounding area doesn't look very nice, they have security personal outside.
Very nice and super clean hotel. The staff was great (just like the rest of the people we met in Costa Rica). The restaurant at the hotel was awesome too. The area where the hotel is located doesn't look very nice and we were not sure we were in the right place, but then we found it and were extremely impressed.

Sköna sängar, drickbart vatten och utmärkt service

Posted 21-Jun-2016 on Hotels

The Place to Stay in Downtwon San Jose

Posted 21-Jun-2016 on Hotels
Hotel Grano and its restaurant are both gems within San Jose. Unfortunately, there isn't much to see/visit or in terms of restaurants beyond the doors of the hotel within immediate walking distance. Staff was very helpful with explaining and booking tours as well as offering suggestions for museums (Jade Museum was great).

Beautiful, stately hotel....best bed ever.

Posted 13-Jun-2016
Pros: Bed. Old world charm. Staff.
Cons: Nothing.
I have to say, first up, the bed was the best I have ever slept in. The mattess, pillows...just wonderful. The room was immaculate. We were upgraded to a deluxe room. It was beautifully furnished. Not your standard hotel room. You can see the fittings and the flooring were all chosen to reflect the elegance of this former stately home. The restaurant, bar and garden were beautiful. Such old world charm and details. The staff were endearing and very helpful. Only slight drawback. While the area is fine, it is a bit of a walk to restaurants / city centre. Would definitely stay there again. Only regret is we did not dine at the restaurant.
