The location of the hotel could not be better!

Posted 25-Aug-2016
Pros: The hotel has world charm. Being an older building makes it quaint with newer improvements making the stay very comfortable.
Spent a week in San Francisco exploring the city. Great food, fabulous weather, and wonderful scenery! One day we went to a Giants game and had a blast. We took BART from airport to Powell station walked two blocks and we were at the hotel. It is right in Union Square, all the shopping is in any direction you walk. We bought transit passes for the week and were able to go anywhere in the city.

Nice hotel but pricey and lacking amenities

Posted 24-Aug-2016
Pros: The front desk staff were great and the hotel itself was clean
Cons: Cheaper pricing without a doubt.
Location: If you are into shopping at expensive stores day after day, the location is good.
The staff were friendly and the location is good and close to union square if shopping is your thing. It is a pricey hotel with small rooms, no pool, no hot tub and I did not see a vending machine or place to purchase snacks without leaving the hotel. Forget eating in the hotel if you are on a budget. Over $100 for an adult and child with one drink each and no desert. Ensure you purchase snacks and drinks for your room as a large bottle of water is $15.00 in the room. Lower your prices on food and room snacks and drinks and make it up on customers purchasing and eating at the hotel.

Location, location, location.

Posted 23-Aug-2016
Pros: Location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The elevators and corridors are a bit tired ... but we got over any negative first impressions quickly
Location: Unless you want to be on the "piers" this is a great place for shopping, eating, drinking and of course Chinatown.
If you want to be on Union Square then this is a great place to be. The hotel entrance and lobby are a nice contrast to the store fronts that surround them ... the coffee bar is good and breakfast in the restaurant was fantastic ... and with a 20% discount for residents it was good to see the price as reasonable as many of the "diners" around it with long lines outside between 0900 and 1030. We had a junior suite which was very pleasant without being exceptional or memorable ... but the staff in the hotel were consistently very helpful and friendly.

while the rooms are a bit dated, they are very clean and comfortable. We had a great stay and would stay again.

Great Location in Union Square right in the heart

Posted 18-Aug-2016
Pros: Location and Comfort
Cons: Better Happy Hour instead of the Three bottles hidden by the front desk if not just do away with the idea all together.
Location: Location is right in the hear of Union Square. Tons of shopping, restaurant's and bars in walking distance. I mean within a 4 block radius
The hotel stay was an absolute joy. The staff was very helpful at all times and the rooms were always clean tidy. A little small and crammed bathroom but then again this is Francisco where space is premium. The Restaurant in the hotel was very good and so was the little cafe with some of the best croissants this side of the Atlantic. The only suggestion would be is to have more staff available on the front desk during peak hours and allow Uber/Lyft drivers to pull up to the front door.

Good location, pleasant, not amazing.

Posted 17-Aug-2016
Overpriced for what it is, I guess that's just San Fran. We had an interior facing room which just looked at other room's shutters. That was a bummer, but it was very very quiet, especially for being right in the middle of the hustle and bustle. The coffee maker in the room was very odd, it was in a drawer that couldn't pull out all the way because the cord was plugged in right through the drawer. It made it not really possible to use. They delivered a hot water kettle for tea but we still couldn't make coffee. They gave my husband coffee each morning in the lobby, but it would have been nice to make it in the room in the afternoon or evening. Molly at the front desk, Daniel at the concierge desk and Christine through email and text were all very helpful and friendly. They made our stay go from below average to above average, with late checkout and nice attitudes.

Great hotel!

Posted 16-Aug-2016
Location: Lots of great shopping nearby, restaurants, pubs and bars! Also, Kuletos restaurant is attached to the hotel, which has amazing food!
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for four days and loved it! So clean and well kept, amazing staff that goes above and beyond for you, nice modern clean rooms, very comfortable bed, etc. It was our anniversary so the manager sent up champagne and chocolate cake for us the first night, which was a really nice surprise. Everyone was so friendly, willing to help with anything, we would definitely stay here again! And as a bonus, it was the perfect location, right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the downtown life. Highly recommend!!

It is a old unkept hotel. Not a four star hotel as stated on Expedia.
