Hotel is old but with charm.

The hallways have an aweful scent. The property is old and has been refurbished. Housekeeping came in without knocking. Not a good experience over all.

Nice Hotel rough neighborhood

Posted 19-Mar-2017
Pros: decent rooms, helpful friendly staff
Cons: more hotel security and police presence in the street
Hotel staff and hotel itself were great. There were so many drug addicts, homeless somewhat mentally ill people harassing passersby, and prostitutes we couldn't leave the hotel. One of the nights we tried to go out a homeless addict began screaming crude things at us less that one block from the entrance to our hotel. Really too bad because we liked the hotel itself.

Paper Thin Walls

Posted 14-Mar-2017
I was stuck in the room directly across from the elevator with paper thin walls and a generous gap under the door, and all night got to "enjoy" the pinging of the evelator and rumbling of its doors (whether it opened on my floor or the floor above). BTW, when you're booking do note the Expedia fine print that mentions a "Resort Fee". I didn't and it (and an additional "admin fee" plus tax) mysteriously showed up on my credit card a week later with no explanation. (On check in and check out I was told I was paid up in full.) Seems they got my cell number from Expedia, too, and kept spam texting it too during the stay. I didn't give it to them direct. Don't know if they kept it up after that since I blocked it.

The location of the hotel was very nice and convenient, the staff that we meet was very. Ice and helpfull, the hotel was a older hotel but well kepted up, nice to see it so kept up. My only problem was the beds, small beds and not very comfortable, some people may say not, to that, each person is different..

Good hotel in Union Square

Posted 02-Mar-2017
This is a good hotel situated right in the middle of union square. There are a lot of good shops and restaurants nearby. Good for vacation and business trips. The room is decent and clean. Would have liked the water pressure to be stronger thought.
