Central location but not the kind of hotel you expect. The hotel is dated and you have over 100 dollars in additional fees and parking you need to pay. Very difficult to access as there is no drive through porch area.

Disappointed!

Friends and i were back at Villa Florence for a second stay over spring break because we loved the convenience, ambience and accessibility of Villa Florence. All was fine until we had to check out - i could not comprehend why we were charged an additional $155.04 (comprising Admin Fee/Tax Employee Health care surcharges/Admin Tax)??? This charge was on top of what we already paid in Expedia! I asked the counter staff checking our room out to explain why we had to pay additional charges and all he could answer was that "Fees you paid to Expedia are third party charges and we could bill you other unforeseen charges"...? This is such an incomplete answer and because we needed to get to the airport, i did not dispute any further and decided to EMAIL the Villa Florence management to demand an explanation the very next day we got back. Besides emailing your management on the email provided on your own hotel website i also left a message of the same content on your website as well. However till TODAY i have not gotten a reply from the hotel management and i find this very irresponsible and rude. Since i attempted to contact your management on two communication channels yet you choose not to reply us with a proper answer i could only give a disappointing review over here.

Hotel was walking distance to shops and transits. Room was good. Bathroom was small and bed was slightly uncomfortable.

Affordable with a great location

Pros: Location and price!
Cons: see above
Location: Shopping, easy transit on public transportation.
Overall our experiance was good. The front desk was not very friendly and didnt acknowledge we were waiting for 15min as two people helped one customer. Shower was nice but water could have been a bit warmer and the in room heating was a bit confusing and didnt warm the room very well.

European Feel

Pros: Location. Romantic, European feel.
Location: Plenty of shopping and dining.
Older hotel nicely kept. Very good location with shopping and restaurants close by. Staff was excellent.

Dream hotel to Disaster in one year

This used to be our favorite hotel in San Fran. It is no longer a 4 star and barely qualifies as a one. The breakfast bar is gone. The Italian restaurant is gone. The customer service is gone. The "complimentary" wifi and kuerig coffee results in a $29.00 administrative fee on the bill at checkout. We left after one night and will never return.

No sense of urgency

Got to the hotel and valet for the night was $60. Then went to check in and we were the only ones at the counter but the supervisor wouldn't stop talk to the employee for a couple minutes. After the supervisor got done talking to the girl at the front desk there had been another guest arrive and stand at the check in place next to us. The surpervisor left the girl to check us in and them in all alone. The girl seemed overwhelmed and it took about 15 minutes to check in. The worst was the next day we called valet to bring our car up. They said it would be 30 min. Which is crazy. But we waited and waited. 45 minutes in we talked to the front desk and said we've been waiting where is our car? They called the valet service and said they're grabbing it now. 10 minutes later I talk to the bell help and asked him if he could check on our car he called and they said they just heard about it 10 minutes ago. So my wife, 9 month old and I had to wait an hour and 10 minutes to get our car from valet to head out of town. Terrible experience

Pros: Good size rooms, friendly staff, good location
Cons: Facility could be updated but that's a minor point - overall good - it's a centrally located hotel & no issues re. cleanliness
Location: Easy access to downtown & cable cars
Clean facility, nice rooms, friendly staff - thumbs up!
