boutique hotel, right in the shopping district

Posted 04-Dec-2016
Pros: location
Location: great location to hop on off on buses...walking distance to everything
The staff at this hotel were amazing. The hotel is nested in shopping district...next to trolley and union square...easy walking distance to the downtown area. Also the amenities...restaurant and coffee bar in the lobby was very handy. Rooms very clean and renovated.

Very nice and quaint hotel in Union Square close to everthing. If you get a room facing the street bring ear plugs otherwise you will not get any sleep. Would definitely stay here again. The restaurant connected to the hotel is very good as well.

Worst Experienced

Posted 29-Nov-2016
Pros: nothing
Cons: employees
I stayed at hotel almost 250 days out of the year, I never complaint or had really bad experience until staying at this hotel. Disrespect hotel front desk staff, and I felt discriminated! Even a coke exploded inside my room refrigerator, unfortunately my kid wasn't around the refrigerator. Bathroom was not fully clean, just bad experienced. I'm not recommended to stay at this hotel

Great hotel and even greater location

Posted 26-Nov-2016
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Location was great for everything-cable car, shopping in designer storesand China Town. Also had a fabulous dinner at Fisherman's Wharf.
We came from a family vacation in Napa to spend a day in San Francisco. It was our 53rd wedding anniversary and we were making the most of our time. Everything about the hotel was fabulous - the employees, room, restaurant, amenities, etc. Would not hesitate to come back here. Ellyn Booth

Not ideal for families who need space.

Posted 23-Nov-2016
Pros: Very friendly hotel staff.
Cons: the Cleanliness.
Location: In the heart of Union Square
My husband and I decided to bring our 3 and 5 year old with us to see Cirque de Soleil and thought this would be a great location in Union Square... BAD choice. Although the staff was very friendly, the hotel was just not what we had hoped for. Things to know about this place, to get to the hotel you have to drive down Powell St. even though there are street signs that tell you "do not enter", then you park in front of the hotel, have to go to the front desk for them to call the valet service which is off-sight. To valet or pick up our car was a 20 minute wait so keep that in mind if you are seeing a show. At first glance the lobby seems nice, but once you walk to the elevators you suddenly see the quality of this place- old and tiny. My husband and I who are slender, with our 2 kids and 2 pieces of luggage could barely fit in the elevator. When the woman at the front desk saw we had small air mattresses for the kids she gave us the "deluxe room", and I am grateful for that since the deluxe room was super small already. My 3 year old immediately found a metal beer topper on the floor, there was hair in our shower and sink, rusty plumbing on the bathroom ceiling, and some smeared make-up (I think) on the walls of the bathroom. I always travel with Clorox wipes, and this place made me grateful for that. We made the mistake of bringing my husband's truck for our travels, and ended up spending $80 a NIGHT for valet. Next time I would stay in a large scale hotel instead.

Not what you pay for

Posted 22-Nov-2016
1. There are hidden fees...100 dollars per day for incidentalsale on top of the 58 for parking. 2. Checked in late in the morning discovered dirty towels in the shower. The soap dispenser empty...so clearly it was never cleaned. Reported to hotel staff and there response was so you want new towels...had to request my shower and bathroom be cleaned. Not worth the price.

Great location downtown. Close to Union square...

Posted 22-Nov-2016
Perfect location close to Union square and easy walking distance to Pier 39 and the financial district. Looked to be recently updated very nicely. Comfortable bed, shower, and clean room. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Would stay here again and we plan to this spring.

Pros: The location is excellent for San Francisco visitors, the staff is first-rate and there is an abundance of shopping and dining options nearby.
Cons: Access for Uber drivers is tricky; the cars cannot access the front of the hotel from O'Farrell street.
Location: Lots of dining and shopping options; easy access to other parts of the city; excellent for those who like to walk.
An older hotel, well-maintained, with excellent staff. Located steps from Union Square, right on the Powell Street cable car line, with great access to restaurants, coffee shops and and shopping,

location is great, just a block from union sq, and it was the bus stop of the hopon hopoff bus tour, so it was unlpan but i could enjoy sightseeing while visiting in SF for a bizness trip. Hotel itself is decent, very pleased workers and room has decent size and nice decolation. i do not have complain.
