Nice hotel with close location to Union Square

Posted 11-Jun-2017
Pros: Location is superbly convenient
Overall nice hotel with a close proximity to Union Square. Conveniently located to bus stops, cable tram car, and walking distance to Macy and other retail outlets. Only small downside to the stay - renovation works at hotel lobby. (bad timing) caused some inconvenience when coming in and out of hotel lobby. (small matter)

Great location in Union Square.

Posted 10-Jun-2017
Pros: Clean
Cons: Publish these hidden fees on the room rate schedule.
Location: Smack dab in the middle of Union Square. Shopping abounds
Under construction. No restaurant or room service. Nice front desk staff. Quiet if you are on the back side of the hotel. Cable car runs right by the front door. Hidden fees: "resort fee" which was a joke since they do not have any amenities plus this new "we-have-to-provide-benefits-to-employees-fee" that they tacked on to our bill. These charges added up to $35 a day (which was not advertised on Expedia nor the hotel's web site!

Great Central location in Union District

Posted 07-Jun-2017
First off, the Villa Florence's lobby, restaurant and bar are UNDER CONSTRUCTION til fall of 17'. We were not made aware of this so it threw us off a bit when trying to find the hotel entrance. The make shift hotel lobby isn't terrible but it isn't great either. It would have been nice to have been made aware of this when we booked. The hotel itself had kind of a funky old antique/old people smell to it but I think it's because it's an older building being made to look "new" again. It wasn't too bothersome though. The room was clean, and had nice decor but you could easily hear through the doors into the hallway. But we weren't in San Francisco to hang in our room all day so these little things to us wasn't a deal breaker. The location of Villa Florence is in the middle of great shopping, eating and the trolley. Only a short 10 min walk maybe to China Town also. Super easy to get an uber or lyft ride to any where else in town. Also, a really nice Walgreens is right across the street so that's super convenient. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Overall a fun stay in SF.

This hotel was okay, but certainly not great. Our room was small, and cramped, and the bathroom was dinky. The location is okay but there is no parking with the hotel, unless you valet park and are willing to pay $69 per day, so we found other parking a couple of blocks away. No restaurant, and therefore no room service. In the lobby, they offered some sort of spiked punch, which I had mistakenly thought was iced tea. I'm glad I didn't drink it, since I avoid alcohol, and it was irresponsible of them to offer it without clearly marking it for what it was.

Awesome stay

Posted 03-Jun-2017
It was a great location, staff was very kind and attentive. Rooms were very nice, recently remodeled. Don't expect too much pressure from shower so it may take awhile to get fully clean. Overall I had an awesome experience here!

Great location; tiny bathroom

Posted 02-Jun-2017
Pros: Great location
Cons: Put shelves and more towel racks or hooks in the bathroom. Fix the bathroom window (which for room 511 was held open with a pole).
Location: Close to Union Square and the public transportation system to get to most locations.
Just steps away from Union Square. The hotel is ungoing renovations of its lobby so it is creating some confusion/delay in dealing with guests but the staff is fine. The bellman (Michael) was helpful and friendly and trying to make us feel very welcome. Management sent emails the first few days to check on our stay and offered to do anything to make our stay great. The bedroom appears to be fairly recently redecorated. Bathroom was the tiniest ever seen.
