Location is downtown San Francisco.

The location of this Westin is very central downtown. We thought it was pretty pricey. Their valet parking is $67 a day which is a lot. The rooms are very small because this is an old hotel. What really disappointed us about the hotel is the quality of wine they carry for being in California, the wine capital of the United States.

Noisy pipes prevent sleep

Posted 11-Sep-2016
Pros: Location, view
Cons: Give guests quiet rooms, and better customer service to be more accomodating to client complaints
Location: SFMOMA and John's Grill, cable cars
Hotel knows certain groups of rooms have problems where the pipes bang all night long. This started on our fourth night. Got no sleep. Called desk at 1am and were told there was a quiet room on our floor, but we would have to pack up everything, then check out of room and check in to new room, instead of just letting us in to the new room to get some sleep on our last night. And we were very clear when we first checked in that we wanted a quiet room. We pay a hotel for a room to sleep in, if it can not provide that, it has failed.

Union Square prime location

Posted 09-Sep-2016
Pros: The location and the character of the public areas such as the Oak room which has beautiful woodwork.
Cons: Parking is pretty costly, so you are better off without a car utilizing cabs, Uber, Lyft, public rail or cable cars and of course walking.
Location: The location allowed us to be able to walk to the Theater district, Chinatown, Little Italy, even the pier. Everything seemed to be 15 minutes away.
The Hotel is beautiful and in an awesome location. The staff and the hotel is in good condition in fact we stayed in the recently renovated tower which was more modern and more to my liking. I did not stay in the older tower so I am not sure what those rooms were like. The Hotel was also smack in the heart of downtown shopping which could be dangerous for some as there was everything from Designer to discount shopping within a block of the Hotel.
