Convenient hotel, centrally located at Union Squar

Posted 28-Aug-2015
Typical smallish room in a dated hotel . Bed leaves a lot to be desired. Rain forest shower head was great. Great view of the Square, 9th floor corner room was a little noisy however. Will use the hotel again, but will insist on a much better bed. 3 nights in a bad bed was hard on this 60 yr. olds back 😄

Great location for the rate

Pros: Location and space
The hotel is just in front of Union Sq. From there you can walk everywhere... shops...restaurants....to the bay...everywhere. Good conditions on the new tower...nice space in the room, really clean...nice shower, good TV guide. Overall, I would say it is a nice 4 stars in the middle of Union Sq.

Great location in San Francisco.

Pros: Location to activities, shopping, transportation, Shows, etc.
Cons: They need to replace the mattress's in the historic building.
Location: Location to activities, shopping, transportation, Shows, etc.
Located in the heart of Union Square. Close to everything including transportation. Room was in the old part of hotel and the bed was not comfortable at all. If staying again I would not stay in the old part of the hotel.

They can take a reservation, but not keep it.

Pros: Good location on Union Square. Otherwise, that's it.
Cons: Have a room available for customer when they reserved said room.
Location: Right down town. Lots of theaters, museums, galleries, restaurants, and shopping.
We booked, and prepaid, a King Deluxe Room in the new Tower one month before our stay. at check in we were told they didn't have anymore of these rooms. We were given a room in the "Classic" building of the hotel, the original decades old building. We went from a new 400 sqft room to an old 150-200 sqft room. The kicker is that we weren't reimbursed for the difference in the rooms until I inquired at checkout. At check in we were given two vouchers for free coffee and were told there wasn't much of a difference. I looked on their website and found that there was a big difference. How do you confirm a reservation and then not have the room available for the customer?

Great hotel, Fabulous restaurant, Convenient

Posted 18-Aug-2015
I would stay here again. The hotel was nice, clean, friendly,... basically everything I want from a hotel. The location is good for vacationing with shuttle buses right outside front door. There are many areas to see in San Francisco and I guess a room with a view of the water would be the most desired but probably beyond my budget, so for the price this location was convenient. There is endless shopping surrounding this hotel although we did not partake in this at all. We ate at the Steak House in the hotel the first night and it was outstanding. Then we ventured out to the countless options for fine foods around town. Bottom line is I liked this place.

Superb view

On the 29th floor perched high above Union Square we had a panoramic view of downtown. As a minor earthquake rattled the Bay area we were secure.

Nice hotel , in the heart of SF at Union square

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: location, clean, front desk service
Cons: we had 4 people booked for the room, but towels for only 2 in the bathroom. We got it when I call, but will be nice if all are there.
Location: a few blocks to Macy, China town, trolly, lots of brand name shopping around.
We have to wait for checkin, room is not ready until 5 pm, so Front desk lady gave us $75 hotel credit. We are very happy. Wish I remember her name. Pardon my old age. She gave us the view room on 2090 too!
