Lovely hotel on Union Square
The hotel and rooms are lovely and very well kept. Getting to and from places on Union Square is easy and there are great restaurants and shopping near by. The only problem I have is the prices in their restaurants and bars. Yes, it's San Francisco and yes, it's a Westin, but it's TOO much. We went to the bar, ordered a glass of house wine and a Grey Goose martini. After having to get a waitresses attention (she was talking with her friends at the bar) we paid $32 before tip. That's too much for a 10 minute experience. The restaurant had similar prices so we went 2 blocks away (each night we stayed) and had amazing dinners and wine for about 2/3 the price. If money is no object to you though, I'd highly recommend the Westin St. Francis. People are friendly and the atmosphere is beautiful.
