Easy in to valet park car..bags taken to room automatically..Scala's right next door & felt very safe in area as I was traveling alone. Another great Kimton Hotel . Like t had e Argonaut too.

Small room

Not a 4 stars hotel by any means. I think a 3 stars is the right level as far I'm conncern. My room was small and felt stuffy the only interesting about this hotel is the red status of the bar.

Thank you for your comments! I am sorry you did not enjoy your room, as the hotel was built in 1928 some of the rooms are the original size. However, we have many room types available and would be happy to get you into something larger on your next visit. Thank you again!

Oldie not too goodie

The location was great but for the price you could stay at a cleaner hotel. We initially had a room that had a view of a wall....requested a change which they did. Then on the next room there was no hot water. They them changed that room and we were told they would get us dinner or credit toward the room. That never happened. Overall you could stay at a branded property that will ensure you have a pleasurable experience or find a way to take care of you.

Pros: Our room was great and it was a pretty hotel.
Cons: Yes, improve your communication with booking websites like Expedia.
Location: It was great location, you could walk to Chinatown. Lots of shopping just outside the door,
We had booked a city view through Expedia but had to change the room when we got there. They knew we had the city view but they gave us a classic room which was less expensive. When I ask the hotel if I could get credit for this, they said yes but called Expedia which I did. Expedia said the hotel wouldn't give us the credit. The manager said we booked through Expedia and they could not help us. It was a blame game between Expedia and the hotel, we had no problem with our rental car we booked through Expedia, we got credit back. I think this poor communication and should be something they should fix. I'm sure this happens all the time guest needing to change rooms.Sure the hotel said they could give us credit for eating in the hotel but we were there to visit San Francisco this wasn't a business trip.

Classic historical hotel

Go to happy hour for a free glass of wine. Also watch the sunset on the 21st floor in the Starlight Room and drink a classic Manhattan.

Great location but room was not big enough

Great location . Loved the history of the hotel but room & bathroom was not big enough for family of 4 . No no modern conviences in the room . No mini refrig or coffee maker . Didn't like idea of going to lobby for morning coffee and they were always out due too large groups of ppl for conferences .

Old fashioned hotel close to union square

Room was not ready until 45 minutes after check in. Walls are very thin. Best was moderately comfortable. Curtains don't close all the way. Heater is a little noisy, and takes forever to warm the room up. Restaurant was very good.
