A Kensington Gardem Experience
Overall, a superb choice, albeit with minor disappointments. First, the location just off Union Square couldn’t be better; right in the heart of downtown and near so many transport hubs, with great little cafes, restaurants and convenience stores right at your doorstep. Second, the early 20tj century charm of the hotel, it’s cleanlines and the dedication and friendliness of its staff make the hotel memorable and worthy of a return visit (oh, I wish). But, the hotel fails itself at the last hurdle with minor irritations and inadequacies, like inadequate tea and coffee making facilities in rooms, inadequate furnishings (bedside table on only one side of our double bed), charging for water in rooms (oh, come on, KG!), tepid hot water, very poor TV service (get your pay movie arrangements sorted out, KG!) and no in-hotel food services. But, as I said, overall superb and I won’t hesitate to go back to our great friends at Kensington Gardens in the bosom of San Fran.
