Great hotel within a stone's throw of Union Square
We booked a deluxe room with a king bed and were not disappointed with the room size or its facilities. The bed was enormously wide. Room furniture was good and in keeping with the period feel of the hotel. I suppose that the biggest drawback is the lack of breakfast and although the hotel has a connecting restaurant we were never asked to dine there. Instead, we took all of our meal's at outside establishments - there's a great Lori's diner just around the corner. Back at the hotel, late afternoon tea and sherry in the Lobby was most welcome. And early morning coffee was available on two of the higher floors. In room coffee-making facilities were replenished every day. Our bathroom had a large walk-in shower and we were provided with lots of toiletries. All in all, it was a great place for two 60 year olds to stay, close to all of the action, transport links and the Cheesecake Factory in Macy's.
