Nice hotel close to EVERYTHING

Posted 17-Jan-2018
Pros: That it was walking distance to everything: shopping, restaurants, BART, clubs, live theatre, cable cars, bars, ice-skating (in the winter months).
Cons: Besides upgrades to bathroom, nothing
Location: Wow, lots to do. This hotel is located smack in the middle of everything. No taxi needed.
Loved this hotel! Very old with lots of history. Check-in was smooth. Friendly staff. Valet was smooth. Our room was clean, cozy with nice decor. Yes, you can hear people through the walls/under the door "sometimes." Yes, you'll find chips and warn marks on furniture. Yes the crown molding and other furnishings could use a face life (as other reviewers have pointed out) It's an old hotel people!! If you're looking for a bed, shower and a roof over your head, stay here. But if you're looking for perfection, go elsewhere. My room was located next to the elevator and I still didn't hear the noise that other people have complained about. Enjoy the ambiance, the location, decor, on-site theatre, the staff, and the first floor set-up with water, coffee, tea and brandy. Thank you Kensington Park Hotel for a wonderful experience. I will be back!

Spacious room, great location

Posted 04-Jan-2018
We spend a night or two in SF every year for our anniversary and have stayed at several boutique hotels in the neighborhood. This was the largest room with the most comfortable bed and nice bathroom.Quiet and Great location and nice staff as well. Great coffee on the 9th floor, decaf too. Only downsides were no refrigerator and room temperature was too warm and hard to adjust.

A great hotel with nightmare valet parking partner

Posted 28-Dec-2017
Kensington Park hotel is in partnership with The Best Parking. The night before we check out of the hotel, we left 5 pieces of large suitcases in our car for Valet parking at The Best Parking. The person that picked up the car was Mr Gritty, the car was not broken in but the next day when they send the car back to us, 4 suitcases was missing. We are still pursuing this case as we are quite sure it was the “internal job”.

The hotel is very conveniently located, close to Macy, Nordstrom, Union square and BART, which makes it attractive

This trip was for my husbands 30th birthday. I requested champagne be in the room as a surprise and paid $55 for it also. I emailed early morning to ask them about early check in and let them know I was arriving around 10-11am and asked if we could please check in. All I received was that “it depends on availability” however, when we arrived, the first question was “would you like to check in early for $25?” Shortly after we agreed, she then asked my husband if we would still like champagne in the room. Well, there went the small surprise. The man who took our luggage seemed more interested in selling us bus tor tickets than anything. I would recommend.

Excellent Hotel. Close to many major attractions.

Posted 11-Dec-2017
A very nice hotel close to most attractions in San Francisco. A bonus was that it had an excellent live theatre within the hotel - attended an excellent performance. Very close to Hop-on Buses and Cable Cars.

Cute hotel in great location

Posted 08-Dec-2017
This is a super cute hotel in a great Union Square location. The rooms are small, but very clean with comfortable beds. Staff was accommodating and friendly. The only downfall for me was that the walls are paper thin. We got a noise complaint for "slamming doors" when the door really just kept shutting loud on its own. It made the rest of the trip very uncomfortable having to use our library voices at all times and tippy toe around the room the rest of our stay!
