Short Trip in SF

Posted 24-May-2017
Pros: Location, comfortable bed, updated bathroom. two televisions (suite). great staff.
Cons: Nothing except AC may be necessary in mid-summer (or not - do not know SF climate well enough to say)
Location: Near Union Square shopping, cable car to Fisherman's wharf, Coit tower, China Town, etc..
We were in SF for three days and wanted to be in downtown area (near Union Square) and chose this hotel for location. It turned out to be a good choice. It was conveniently located to everything in the downtown area and was reasonably priced for the neighborhood. Valet parking was expensive but this is the same for all hotels in the area. The room was extremely nice and updated with big screen TV in living and bed room (we had a suite) and the only thing missing was AC which you do not really need in SF until "maybe" mid-summer. The continental breakfast had many good options and each evening was a wine and hors d'oeuvres social hour. In short the hotel contributed greatly to a lovely trip.

A gem just next to Union Square.

Posted 24-May-2017
This small boutique hotel is close to Union Square. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the rooms clean and comfortable. Fresh cookies are available at the end of each floor and coffee available in the dining area all day. There is wine and hors d'oeuvres each evening bringing travelers together. Highly recommended

No Air Conditioning; hot room.

Pros: quiet
The lack of air conditioning and ineffectual ceiling fan was a comfort killer. Also, the elevator is on its last legs.

Great location for San Francisco

Posted 22-May-2017
Room facing the street. Fairly noisy but you got used to it. Part of the "City" vibe. Evening cookies were great. Wine, cheese, nuts etc was very nice. Morning breakfast was good. Old building but very comfortable. Would consider staying there again. Cable car just one half block away.

Great Hotel. Lots of little things you won't get anywhere else, like the daily eine reception.

Perfect location

Pros: The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and helpful, especially the bubbly young lady at the front desk. Rooms were smallish be sufficient.
Cons: no
Location: Perfect location. Be sure to go to Alcatraz Island, the tour inside the prison is awesome! We enjoyed the shopping in Haight-Ashbury as well.
This was our first trip to SF and the Inn at Union Square worked out great for my wife and I. Staying near Union Square is an ideal location, the shopping in the area is abundant plus there's easy access to all of the public transportation options. We purchased a 3-day muni pass ($32) which gives you access to all of the public transportation except for the bart. Once we figured out the bus/cable car/subway maps getting around the city was a breeze. We loved the complimentary breakfast, wine at happy hour and cookies in the evening.

Perfect!

Where do I begin....unassuming from the outside I was a little nervous to go in. The lobby was beautiful, Ballet was super fast, staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was absolutely gorgeous and unique and has a lot of character that I was not expecting. Happy hour was perfect after a long day at work and was small and intimate which allowed you to have conversations with other guests. Breakfast was just the right amount to get you started off right!

Quiet Hotel close to everything

Posted 14-May-2017
Pros: Everything
Cons: Other than having coffee making facilities in room - nothing

Great place to stay. We were here for 4 nights while visiting San Francisco. The hotel is in Union Square and about 1 minute walk from the cable car line. It is a boutique hotel, rooms are quite small but perfect for the time we were there. Very comfortable and clean with nice toiletries provided and also bath robes. There is also a complimentary breakfast of cereals, fruits, yogurts, pastries and toasts which was ideal for us. They also provide a free wine and cheese meet and greet every night so you can meet other guests. It was a nice touch. You can walk just about every where within 30-45 minutes (Marina, Wharf, Coit Tower, Lombard Street etc). It is a great way to see the city but you need to be reasonably fit. SF is quite hilly. It is only about a 5 minute walk to connect to the BART, trams and buses. For sight seeing we would definitely recommend Alcatraz and also Sausaulito/Muir Woods, both are excellent. One small thing if you are an early riser there are no coffee/tea making facilities in the room.As we were from the UK with a time difference of around 08 hours we were usually awake around 5am so a coffee would have been nice.

Very convenient location

Posted 12-May-2017
Pros: location, very convenient for walking and public transportation
Cons: The continental breakfast was nice, as well as tea/coffee throughout the day.
Location: If you enjoy walking, you are close to just about everything!
The staff was friendly & accommodating. The room seemed like it had been recently updated. It is an older building, the hall ways are narrow, the elevator is small, there is not a view, our room was not large but it was spacious enough, however I did see some of the other rooms looked quite small.
