Reasonable hotel, equidistant from many destinations around San Francisco. For the first night our booked room wasn't yet available, so they placed us in a larger suite facing Market Street, which was quite noisy until late at night. Our room for the rest of the stay was facing 8th which was more reasonable for street noise.

Good location

Posted 21-Aug-2016
I think this was my third time to stay at hotel whitcomb. My room this time was much better--the bathroom was nicer. There were not very many outlets to charge your phone though. For some reason, it became very warm in the evening even with the AC on.

Pros: スタッフ。交通の便。
Cons: 設備。
BART駅(Civic Center)から近く交通便利。スタッフがとても親切でした。歴史的ホテルということではありますが、設備的にはもう少し更新して頂きたい。WiFi無料ではあるが、非常に遅く使用に課題あり。

The shining.......

Posted 20-Aug-2016
Cons: The overall condition of the hotel is very poor. Wallpaper peeling off the walls, Windows boarded up, VERY dated bathrooms.
Location: Can not safely go out on the street at night. In an area of homeless activity.
Very dark room. Cavernous size with very little furniture. Huge window......too bad it was boarded up. The vibe is haunted hotel or maybe the shining was filmed there.

Dirty rooms with broken / loose bathroom faucets

Posted 19-Aug-2016
For a historic hotel, the hallways were not clean, carpets need shampooing and the bathrooms are OLD and showed bad caulking job

Theater district hotel

Posted 18-Aug-2016
Pros: Freeway close, historic landmark
Cons: Bathrooms could be updated.
Location: In the theater district (Orphium theater is accross the street). Public transportation stops right in front of hotel. Freeway close.
This historic hotel was a pleasant surprise. I expected the rooms to be tiny, but was pleasantly surprised by the roominess of the entire property. The front desk was able to accommodate our family with connecting rooms at the last minute. The high ceilings and ornate lobby even impressed my teenage son. Bathrooms could use some updating, but that would change the vintage feel. We would book this hotel again!

Not a fan

Posted 17-Aug-2016
Cons: Better beds, noise proofing.
I guess is a San Francisco thing, but this hotel is really overpriced for what it is. I got a 2 double bed room as I was traveling with my two kids. The beds are tiny and with the noise (both hallways and outside) I so had a terrible night, didn't get any rest. The neighborhood has improved a bit but is still not pretty at night.

Andres, Thank you for your feedback. I apologize for the noise you experienced. We do offer rooms that may be quieter and further from the street. We appreciate you taking the time to bring this to our attention.

Nice hotel, not-so-nice location.

Posted 16-Aug-2016
Pros: Ambience.
While the Hotel Whitcomb is a lovely hotel, it's location is not so desirable. I felt very leery about venturing out and was glad I wasn't alone. If you are not going to be walking around San Francisco, then I would definitely recommend this hotel. The rooms are small but comfortable and the hotel itself is very old-worldly and quaint.

Older hotel convenient location Noisy air conditioner, sink broke during our stay but safe, clean and in our price range so overall decent.
